We may be a little bias as we stop here every month or two in our way south from the San Francisco Peninsula and never have had a bad meal. Breakfasts are excellent and large, burgers and sandwiches are flavorful and tasty. Pies are delicious and a wonderful selection is available daily. But my bias is authentic Mexican cuisine and... We had a great breakfast and lunch. Pancakes and chicken fried steak is terrific. Service was super friendly.

This is a classic road house restaurant. Time stopped here 40 years ago. Menu has what you would expect... Breakfast, sandwiches, salads, lots of fried stuff. My husband and I split the chile verde omelet (omelette comes with choice of bread, biscuits, tortillas or pancakes, along with choice of potatoes, fruit, or cottage cheese). Portions are huge. Probably the best... More

Heading south on 101 we decided to stop for a bite to eat. This cafe was a little outside of King City and could easily be missed, we were really pleased we did stop here. This is a small cafe / diner with a very good menu and excellent staff. The food is good American food covering breakfast, lunch and... More

My husband and I came to King City to live there over a year ago and our first stop was here at the Wildhorse Café. It's a great little place alongside 101 and stop between Paso Robles and Salinas/Monterey. My husband usually frequent the breakfast menu and he likes the Denver Omelet. I'm a little picky, but when I ask... More

Cafe-style comfort food was great - tasty, cooked just right. The pies and the fresh strawberry jam were delicious. The staff were very friendly and the service was great. We were there around 2:00 pm so after lunch. Not crowded. We will stop here for late breakfast (they serve breakfast all day) or lunch on our trips to San Francisco... More

Food was good, portions large and reasonable priced. Service was good but we were between morning and lunch crowds. we shared a breakfast omelette and plenty for the two of us.

Great stop along highway 101. Food is your basic diner fare and breakfast all day. Feels like you may have left the west coast and arrived in the Midwest. Come for the chicken fried steak but stay for the pie!

Stopped to get gas, and saw the cafe so we ate there. Interesting looking place, nice atmosphere, and friendly waitress. The place is a bit pricey, but then it has no competition, so I can't fault it for that. But.... the food was mediocre at best. And, to add insult to injury, the portions were very small. My wife and... More

We weren't overly impressed with the food. The service was great but the food was mediocre. I had the tri tip dinner which was ok and my wife got a burger which was awful. The beef tasted old and freezer burned. She would have sent it back but the place was closing soon and she didn't want to hassle with... More
