A French-style restaurant in a manor house, featuring imaginative dishes from ingredients from the area - most recently, as it is hunting season - bear, elk, pheasant, lamb, wild duck... A good selection of wine. Service is friendly by Estonian standards.
Restaurant "La Boheme" is a part of Vihula Manor, a historical place to offer also hotel services. The atmosphere is "medieval" and the service is absolutely great, so I can highly recommend this restaurant when you want to enjoy good food in a historical place....The prices on the Menu were not very expensive, but the prices on their wine list were totally out of the range, when comparing them to other restaurants in Estonia.More
Good hotel and restaurant Boheme is good. Prices are a little bit higher than we were used to but quality of food is good. For desert I took the cheese and this was a very nice dish. We were put in the grand ballroom together...with a big group who came much later for dinner. Maybe better to use the small restaurant on the right side of the stairs in these cases.More
Restoran "La Boheme" located in the II floor of the main house with nice terracce (the weather was a bit cold otherwise i would have dinner in a terracce). They have made nice table notes for quest name, small but nice move. The time was...for sunset and in the room was lot of light, unfortunately all the glasses we have on the table looked like (no clean and burniche from last using) so we asked for waitress to bring the new classes. I have to say that the 4* is 90% because of service in Restaurant and waitress who was quite good. we hade a nice class of Gavi (the wine stayed and waited for classes, a bit warm, but all the next classes of wine tasted nice and right temperature). I talked about our bad lunch experience in local Pub and asked reccomendations for the starters, it was long and nice discussion but we choosed the local smoked trout with mustard line (there was also thewhitefish in same plate didnt like it) it was absolutelly delicious, and second starter was cod fish, the tastes in the plate did not match, separetly ok but together no. In the breake started one jung estonian guy (proffessional not a quest) play piano and song some all newing songs (sailing, wonderful world...) the piano was super, 5% gived him for nice melody and athmosphere unfortunately it did not long for long... For main course we choosed Duck and White fish. I have to say (5%) i think it was the BEST duck i have ever (i think i have hade minimum 100 portion of variatys) eating in restaurants ! So for it the big APPLAUSE ! White fish with beans and pea was again separetly good tastes but no match, it hade grill stripes but tasted like a cooked. for the dessert waitress recommend the local made truffels, i have to say they were made for good quality chocolate but no special taste just lot of chocolate it could be with cherry or rum or something interesting. But again the service save the image of this house. We would like to tip the waiter but we couldnt (they will not accept the card tip, please change it its the easiest thing to do in the world) so i feel not very comforatbel for waitress who nicely taked care from us all night with all long comments and disscussion we had... Also i liked the Breakfast. The third place you can eat i manor is a lobby cafe, i tried the Mussels (not the worst...) and a coat cheese salat tasted nice service poor !More
The restaurant of the Vihula Country club has a respectful cuisine with an excellent service. You can enjoy Estonian food prepared at a high level. The environment is wonderful and the dining room gives you a royal experience. Not cheap but exceptional.
