If you want a hearty meal at a reasonable price, El Taco Grande is a worthwhile stop. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant, while lacking atmosphere, always clean. The food is standard Mexican fare, with huge, delicious burritos. Take your meal out to enjoy on the plaza while you people watch.

El Taco Grande is an okay Mexican restaurant on within walking distance of the plaza in Healdsburg. I would recommend walking to El Farolito (which is slightly more expensive) and not too far away. There is a jukebox inside restaurant. Restaurant is usually loud.

Not a lot of atmosphere but the meats are really good. The prices are reasonable and the folks here are friendly.

This past June, having found the classic Healdsburg Tuesday music in the park, I needed some food to tide me over, having been doing wine tastings all day. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavor of the dinner platter of Enchiladas I was presented. The salsa and chips along with the guacamole were also excellent. All in all,... More

Great place for lunch tucked in a strip mall a couple blocks from the plaza. Terrific tacos al pastor and ice cold beer - what more do you need? Maybe a slab of their luscious flan. The seafood cocktails also seem popular and probably worth a return trip.

I like their garden and veggie burritos. Salsas are super good: red and green salsas. Carne asada and fish tacos are tasty. Fish is not fried the way they prepare fish tacos at El Sombrero.

Super disappointed with the service. Food was okay, but definitely not worth going back. And it's a shame because we live so close to it. The server wasn't even friendly and acted like we were bothering her. She never brought us half the things we aske her for repeaatedly.

El Taco Grande is not an atmospheric gem, but the food is consistently good, and reasonably priced. We ususally do take-out, and haven't been disappointed yet.

Healdsburg has many semi-gourmet restaurants serving what some might call "yuppie chow," for its appeal to well-healed tourists. We wanted a casual, moderately priced but tasty meal before heading to a wedding's wine and desert reception, and El Taco Grande was just what we hoped for. The food was very good, fresh, and the waitstaff were welcoming and friendly. The... More
