We live 20 minutes away and have been coming here for decades. The fish is delivered daily, always fresh off the boat. Portions are large, service is friendly. So, put on your jeans, have a great meal, then walk down to the docks and watch the fishing boats arrive with their catches. Definitely not a tourist trap as someone recently... More

Stopped for late lunch. Crab sandwiches filled with crab and fries on the side. Wonderful clam chowder without fillers. So Tasty. Service is good as well. Beer and wine and great desserts like KeyLime pie. Line can be long, but wait it out. You'll be glad you did.

Barbara's Fish Trap, a tourist trap since the 1920s, was recommended and got passing grades.. Clam chowder is the specialty—so wife Gretch ordered artichoke hearts appetizer, tempura style. She followed with garlic cheese bread and full bowl of the famous soup. Gretch had too much, couldn't finish it. I survived on cup o' soup and stir-fried vegetables. Soup was great... More

We arrived for Lunch on a Sunday. There was a line out the door and we added our name to the list of those waiting. I imagine Sunday is the busiest day of the week there. We waited for 40 minutes and they called our name for our table for two. We had been here before while on a trip... More

This is a great little spot out past the marina. I sat on the street side deck but could still see the water off to the side. Very busy place at lunch on a Monday! I had been looking forward to some Dungeness crab on this trip. Had the crab sandwich with coleslaw. There was a good portion of crab.... More

We visit Palo Alto regularly from England to see family and always trip over to the Ocean to Barbara 's. Everything is fresh, hot and tasty. The portions are generous and good value. However, it is always very busy. A tip, there are several tables on the pavement, sorry sidewalk! outside. Don't wait in line for a table inside where... More

We went for lunch yesterday and ordered the HEAVENLY battered fish and chips and the clam chowder...way too much celery in the chowder, but lots of clams it and needed some cream and butter in my opinion. The waitress we had (with lavender eye shadow and matching earrings) loved her job and it seemed the others did, too. Very experienced... More

We stop at this place whenever we go to the coast. The fish and chips are the best Ive ever had, and the portions are good size. The clam chowder in a bread bowl is also very good. You can spend a lot more if you like, and there are a lot of different seafood choices.

This is a little restaurant right on the water with delicious fish n chips and the best corn fritters you've ever tasted. Our waitress was delightful and attentive. Glad we picked this little place during our trip down the west coast.
