This is a very cool spot. The driftwood chairs and lampshades are very clever but the star is definitely the food - all very fresh and well presented. The only slight flaw is that the portions are a little on the small side. Service was was prompt and efficient.

The decor in this place is unbelievably cool, the Service was very good, but food was just okay. I was mostly disappointed in the size of the portions that we were served. Although we were underwhelmed, would not be surprised if we gave it a second try.

Nicely decorated and clean. Had california and caterpillar rolls along with pot stickers and eel. All were well prepared and tasty. We ordered togo and the food was ready at the promised time.

This is a nice place for good sushi and a few drinks. The service was fast and attentive without being a nuisance. The decor was relaxing and very cool. Sushi main street is a good lunch option as a break from exploring the shops on main street.

I had lunch here. The sushi was, as always, the best I’ve had. I had a caterpillar roll, tuna/macadamia nut roll (without may sauce), unagi papaya roll, and an unagi roll. All were fantastic. Service was poor. It took 10+ minutes just to get a menu (there were two other tables filled at the time). Then another 5 or 10... More

We had a lovely Bento Box lunch last week. The restaurant decor is SOOO charming; rustic but elegant in it's simplicity. The use of knarled wood for chairs, concrete for benches, stone for table tops and petrified wood for stools is beyond creative. You are transported to a rustic country setting in Japan. The sushi and saki are amazing and... More

I can't believe in many years of coming to Half Moon Bay that we never dined at Sushi Main before. We enjoy sushi but my husband is allergic to crustaceans (any sea life with legs, shrimp, crab, lobster). We were delighted that Sushi Main had many choices that were strictly fish or shellfish. There were sushi choices with different sauces... More

Sushi Main Street has two adjoining restaurants. The sushi bar in the restaurant is the best. Great selection of sushi and japanese dishes. They also make killer rolls and great vegetarian selections. Sake and Beer selections are terrific and make the dining complete. Service is laid back at times, but hopefully you will be too after a drink and appetizer... More

There are two locations, one a bar on Main and the other a restaurant on the side street. Supposedly both have the same menu. We ate in the restaurant, which was not crowded. Hot sake and miso soup were fine. Salmon miso soup was too large and full of bones and cartilage. For all sushi items: Extremely tough seaweed wrap!... More

We all took the set lunch, which was only $10.95 - choice of main course accompanied by salad and a California roll plus miso soup. Good value. Food was average - not bad but not great. The tempura was good, but salmon teriyaki quite dry. The chicken teriyaki was just a small piece of chicken breast pan fried with teriyaki... More
