Generally I have been disappointed in the Mexican food offerings along the Central Coast area, but El Tapatio is the REAL DEAL! Having traveled (and eaten) extensively south of the border, I know good cooking. The chile relleno was a nice big fat Pasilla chile stuffed with cheese, and was topped with a delicious sauce. While waiting for our entrees,... More

We ended up at this place for breakfast by pure mishap but thank God we did!! Don't let the decor fool you, it's simple. Their salsas are amazing!!! The food was delicious and authentic (the closest to my mothers home cooking), the tortillas are freshly made, and the service from the owners was attentive and excellent! We'll definitely be back!

Family of 8 sightseeing and so glad we tried this place. We knew it would be good because you can see the food being made. They started with flour and lard...nothing out of a supermarket bag. The chips and salsa are freshly made throughout the day. We had several entrees and shared around the table. All were excellent. Friendly staff,... More

We just stopped for a beer and a snack. We chose the nachos with all the fixings. They were the best nachos we've ever had! We feel confident all items on the menu would be just as awesome. The family who owns this restaurant were all very nice and really made us feel welcome and also feel they truly appreciated... More

The food was some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. The huevos rancheros were perfect and the Carnitas is some of the best I have ever had. I highly recommend eating here.

My wife and I stopped here after visiting the dunes from the north side. We had worked up a good appetite and the food was great. We will be returning to this restaurant whenever we are back in Guadalupe. The Pollo en salsa was excellent!

I stop here just about every time I'm on this part of the coast. I have never been disappointed and more than once completely satisfied with food & service. I'm on my way back tomorrow for their menudo and then some birding at Oso Flaco.

Ate there before attending an Oktoberfest party in Nipomo. By far the best Chili Verde and Chili Relleno I have ever had. It will become my "go to" restaurant on my trips to the coast. Nnnnn

I must say, I do love my Mexican food. There are few places in California, much less the Central Coast, that even hold a candle to this incredible little spot. Couldn't be more innocuous from the street, nor more modest on the inside, but once the food hours your palate, you'll be sold. DO NOT BLINK, or you'll miss it,... More
