Been here many times, and is always a great “go to” spot. We dined outdoors in the Villa Del Sol courtyard, it was quite pleasant. The food was good as always, two of us had the Chili Rojo plate and it was very tasty. The seafood pasta – linguini with a large shrimp was good, especially if you like it... More

Café Hidalgo is located in the Villa del Sol complex on the northwest corner of Harbor Boulevard and Wilshire Avenue in downtown Fullerton. Despite what you might assume from the name, Café Hidalgo is not necessarily a Mexican restaurant. In fact, they advertise themselves as offering “authentic foods from Mexico, Spain and Latin America.” It’s not the sort of place... More

The food selection was excellent and it was pretty authentic for the regions. Great wine selection and excellent service.

My ribeye steak was soon delicious...still dreaming of it! Sunday is 2:1. So ten of us was so good for it's value! I would come back to this restaurant and try other dishes! They have no wifi ... so communicating with others in the party for foreigners like me was a bit more difficult!

We visited for a luncg, a goupr of 17 people. Service was very good, food was presented very tastefully. We had a great time and the price was reasonable.

Dinner in downtown Fullerton is always an adventure. Tonight we chose Café Hidalgo based on others’ recommendations. We had reservations, but didn’t need them for an early dinner on a Thursday night. We had a table for four with a window view of Harbor Blvd. Great for people watching! For starters, we ordered the calamari appetizer based on our server’s... More

We went for dinner on a Monday night & were one of only 2 tables despite this service was poor. Firstly we were sat right next to the only other people in the restaurant so could hear their conversation clearly. The food was mediocre at best. We had shrimp skewer started which we believe were frozen given the taste &... More

My personal preference to Mexican Restaurants are hole-in-the-walls, but when I want a fancier lunch in downtown Fullerton, Café Hildago is the place to go. Good food, excellent variety of menu items, and very friendly staff
