Sat down at 6:30. For the next hour all we got was chips and drinks. There were maybe 10 or 12 people there when we got there including a large group of middle age ding dongs yelling their heads off which drove us outside. My burrito was tasty but at $17 not 2X as tasty as one of the hole... More

Finally tried Fulano's after many years living in Carlsbad. It was my outstanding that they were a gourmet Mexican restaurant. Well just ain't so. Just average food and average service. Lots of other really good Mexican restaurants in the area. Try one of them. They only take cash!!!!!

Some restauranteurs forget a restaurant business is partly in the hospitality business. When you seek a restaurant like Fulano's it's for the EXPERIENCE... This place lacks any experience in atmosphere or decor or services... if you like Mexican food find a Mexican restaurant, if you're looking for a Mexican restaurant that thinks it's an Italian or French restaurant than find... Fulano's is a small restaurant that is easy to miss, not being on the Coast Highway where most of the local eateries are found. It's food is exceptionally good, and more upscale than the typical fare in our other local Mexican restaurants, many of which are also quite good.

If you live in the Carlsbad -Encinitas area you should dine at this restaurant at least once. This place is not your usual taco shop.(Don't get me wrong, I love some taco shops) Leucadia is changing rapidly from sleepy coastal community to yoga, wine bars and brew pubs. This place is an old school neighborhood gem. The food is authentic... More

On Friday evenings, they serve one of the best sea bass dishes I've ever tasted. Grilled with a hint of lime on a bed of mashed potatoes with a gorgeous, lightly spiced sauce. It's worth the visit just for that dish. The rest of the Mexican menu is also very good. Great margarita. The dining room is not very big... More

In my opinion the review of a restaurant will take many elements into consideration. Naturally, the food is of utmost importance. Also, it is important to evaluate the customer service, the physical facility, parking, and location. A great restaurant will have all of these elements in balance. My review is based upon each of these essential items. Fulano’s Mexican Café... More

Overpriced, rarely open, interesting owner-chef. Won't return. Sadly gone downhill from prior years' visits.

I have tried to eat here several times - as it looks like it would be a good place. I have NEVER seen it open in my ten plus years of living in Leucadia. Please can someone find out what their hours are????

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in San Diego. The chile rellano is so light and delicate with a delicious sauce. The pork dish with portobello mushroom has one of the most incredible sauces ever and it is served with great cole slaw. I don't even usually like cole slaw but there's is so good that I sometimes get extra... More
