A very nice setting for a family to enjoy breakfast with kids. We sat outdoors, so the little one could be distracted by the plane. Although we watched many planes do their pre-flight checks, taxi over and take off, it was never too loud or windy. The service was good. The food came out quickly and the staff was very... More

Our son, his wife and toddler took us to Gillespie field cafe for lunch one day to enjoy some of that beautiful California weather while eating outdoors. They have a pleasant covered "porch" for outdoor dining. One can watch the small planes take off and land or being moved around while you are eating. It may sound loud but it... More

I love airport cafes and GFC is a good example why. Good food with substantial amounts at a fair price in a fun setting. I had fluffy pancakes with two large sausage links and two huge scrambled eggs. I was stuffed. Pleasant service and aviation ambience--a great combination.

I had a late lunch here the other day and had a great grilled sandwich with a hearty navy been soup. I thought the prices were a little high but I enjoyed my tasty lunch very much. I learned they even have live music on the patio once a month.

If you like watching planes take off go here. It is at the Gillespie Field in El Cajon. Restaurant is bare bones but the food is really good!

I have lived near this café for 7 years and never new it was there. The sign says Gillespie Café Flight School and when I drove back there I didn't see a 'cafe' so I assume it was a cute name for a flight school. I recently started flying out of this airport and was able to find the Café... More

Aviation lovers Cafe right on the ramp. Sit in or outside(shaded) Food good if a little expensive. My only gripe is that the steak (steak&eggs breakfast) has been disappointing both visits. Others enjoyed their omelets & Chilli.

Great weekend event to bring the family...Lots to see food aplenty and vendors to check out! If you like planes and a great air show put this on your calendar. I believe it's an annual event.

Service is great and the food is good. Pretty cool experience with the planes taking off and landing in front of you while you eat. A little pricey for breakfast which brings it down a star, but I would go back.

Terrific place to bring kids for a bite of lunch and a chance to watch small aircraft land and take off.
