Another LA trip meant another visit to Porto’s next to our hotel, Embassy Suites. One day did the online ordering but the second decided to walk over. Ordering online allowed us to pick the time of pickup (limited slots for each). We queued up in...the back and when we arrived on time (at our designated pick up time) we were directed to turn on our hazard lights and park in front while all others parked normally. Unfortunately it took longer than I expected to get my order and when it did arrive it was wrong. It was was quickly fixed though. Ordering in person was better but I had to pick up then (no coming back). The queue was short and all tasks were completed entirely outside the bakery. The menu was not as extensive as before but still had the key items we wanted. Guava and Apple strudels, meat pies, etc. our favorite Porto’s iced coffee only came in bottles and higher priced unfortunately. Still quality and taste were the same and we enjoyed eating everything. Looking forward to return to normalcy and the entire menu.More

This is a must if you visit Downey. We absolutely enjoy everything on the menu and on occasion you may see Betty Portos who is an excellent host of one of the best restaurants in the county. I love the empanadas, meat balls, besitos and...the cakes.More

Tried to help support restaurant. Tried 4 locations. All phones busy for two days running. Webiste ordering a joke, times our after a few items ordered, then get through order after several attempts and credit card input, times out again. Get it together and stop...wasting your customers time. All your ordering requrements have nothing to do with supporting the Customer. Apparently, I work for you not the other way around. Completely turned off this so called experience. With all the unemployment, you could afford to hire some more talent. This applies to attempts at all stores as we were willing to drive outside our WLA area to support bakery. No more.More

While we have visited Porto's many times, we now live in Texas where there are NO PORTO'S. Since I love their cheese rolls and meat pies, among many other items, it has been a great strain not being able to enjoy them. But now Porto's...offers Bake at Home service: they ship frozen items to your home for you to bake at your convenience. Our first order of cheese rolls was gone in a flash -- they bake up to be just as fantastic at home as they are from the restaurant. Thank you Porto's!More

I was so excited to try these beautiful pastries, I can not speak for the cream based concoctions, but for the breakfast pastries they wound up looking better than they tasted.
