We had been to this restaurant many times in the past, but we do not feel like going there any more, because although some dishes are still good, others are so-so or overpriced. We still like XLB Shanghai soup dumplings $6.50; Shanghai spare ribs; Shanghai thick noodle; and pan fried Shanghai buns. But the Shanghai rice cake is $8.50, which... More

Place fills up fast at dinner. Soup gyoza were great. Greens beans and tofu, crispy fried croker, a shrimp dish with scallions in a mild sauce were delightful. As was a rice dish (can't find it on the menu now) that had a wonderful mild smokey flavor. My son and I also ordered griddle cooked spicy chicken with lotus root,... More

Highly recommended for authenticity, we came here for lunch the weekend before Dragon Boat Festival. Very busy restaurant, I commended myself for making a reservation ahead of the time. We had the soup dumpling, the grilled bao, Shanghai home style stir fry, grilled pork chop, tofu with meat sauce, onion pancake & sauté veggie. I might have lived in China... More

My friend and I ordered 2 items for lunch -- fish in a wine sauce and beef with onions. Both were mediocre; nothing impressive. Even the hot and sour soup was 2nd rate or worse. The waiter was good in taking our orders, but after that, we never saw him again. I doubt that I will eat there again.

The pork soup and crab meat is fine despite I didn't even taste crab inside. It is a bit greasy, but fine for me. Then another dish was spicy wonton. It was fine, but a gain a little greasy, and the third one was fried rice with ham and fried pork, so more and more oil. Fried pork was fine.... More

Great Shanghainese food here. However, if you do not have all your people there all on time, or order right away do not go here. We ate and left within an hour for six of us. We had the steam buns, the pan fried buns, the fish gluten with tomatoes and melon, rice cake with vegetables and meat, a steam... More

Came here with friends since it was recommended by someone we knew who is a foodie. Anyhow, the food is amazingly good and you can't get enough of their Shen Jian bao (pan fried dumplings). The only thing is that the service is terrible.

I've been to Shanghai Garden about six times and every time the food has been really good. I can't say the same for the two Chinese restaurants that are closer to where I live. So, when I feel like having Chinese food, I make the drive to Cupertino. Some of our favorites include: Dong Po Pork - pork belly that... More

Food is great, lots of authentic dishes and variety. The place is busy, unless you get there early, there's often a long wait.
