Hey, San Diegans it is worth the drive to Los Angeles/Culver City to eat at the famous Johnnie’s Pastrami Restaurant. Drive slowly to not pass the absolute best pastrami sandwich, a tremendous amount of juicy meat dipped in sauce laid firmly on a french roll....More

I know everyone raves about the pastrami Sammie’s, but the hamburgers, fried chicken and chili cheese fries are the best!!!!! Try them—-you won’t be sorry!

So this place is a nice local spot I've been going to for over 20 years now. It's a great late night stop when one is having a munchi attack or in need of tasty food to soak up those cocktails! Either way any time...More

Over many years, including just last week, I visited Johnnie's Pastrami restaurant. Rather than order their traditional pastrami sandwich, I prefer their corned beef sandwich on rye bread. The employees are efficient, the food is consistent but the prices keep getting higher each year. Twenty...More

When I lived in Los Angeles in the 70s and early 80s Johnnie's was our "go to" hamburger joint. They had whole delicious pickles, juicy, perfectly done burgers and elderly waitresses. On a recent trip to L.A. we went back and found delicious pickles (now...More

Loved the pastrami and I vanilla shake. Sandwich was decent and shake was made like old school. Been wanting to try this place it has been here since 1952. Will try the hamburger next time. Parking is a bit of a challenge.

Nostalgia galore. Huge portions, iconic service.I take all my way out of town guests. It's my son's first stop when he visits.

My son and I split one of Johnnie's hot pastrami sandwiches on a recent trip to Culver City and it was awesome! Parking could be a little tight here but we were able to just walk over from the nearby Travelodge where we stayed. Food...More

Johnnie's is open LATE, like 3:30 am late on the weekends, which is great when you arrive to town later than the rest of the eateries were open (10pm closing time). Good selection of food. They bring you pickles while you wait for your meal,...More

Visited Johnnie's on my trip back to LA and it hasn't changed a bit. Same great pastrami and the pickles are to die for. Large servings of French fries with the pastrami. Yum.
