Basque Norte Restaurant has to be the best restaurant anywhere between San Francisco and Portland or Seattle! The best NY Steak anywhere, period. My daughter said the chicken was "the best I've ever had in my life." Even the simple things here are over the top- like the Garlic Tomato Soup. or the pasta. How do they make it so... More

Good basic food, served family style for a hard drinking fun loving crowd. The only downside is the owner/hostess always seems a bit put out by it all. This is not fine dining this is good old time Dinner House original. I cannot even say it is Basque! Great steaks in their own marinade that are huge, even Minnesota Fats... More

This family style restaurant is great. The cocktails are good. The steak is amazing. Its a comfortable, casual atmosphere. A family owned restaurant. The more people you have in your party, the better. My favorite meals here have been with big groups. Enjoy!

The owner cuts his own steaks and the 14 oz New York Steak is the best we have ever had. We often aren't able to finish it so we either get the steak for 1 of us and the prawns for the other. If we get 2 steaks we take the leftovers home and it is still great for dinner... More

Basque Norte has been around a long time. Wonderful owners, family style sides, just don't order the halibut. Not good, dry, no flavor, portion size horrible. Plus, it was very expensive! I know, I know, why would you order fish? Heard it was good and husband had steak the night before. Won't be going back for awhile!

I love this place. I can't visit Chico without stopping here for dinner at least once. The food is great! The Tapa Sampler (2 shrimp, 1 beef skewer, 1 porky shank) is delicious. Sangria is the best. The owners are great!

Many moons ago when we lived in Lancaster we would make the trek over the hill through Tehachapi to Bakersfield to the best Basque experience in the area at the Wool Growers. Community dining at its best, good food and always an experience. When we came across Basque Norte on a trip from Portland to NorCal, we wondered how it... More

Basque Norte has been serving the same great food for many years. The quality is always good and it's always exactly what you expect. The food is served family style in generous amounts. One of my all-time favorite restaurants in Chico.
