Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

100/100 this little hole in the wall is great. Seems very small from the outside but opens up once you are in. The owner is a local and has been here for quite some time. Greek food options are hot and fresh, and they even...have a really killer burger which I got for my kids. Will definitely be back soon.More

Saturday night, great food, unbelievable friends we met at the bar during dinner. Don't forget they have live music on the weekends.

Very good Greek food. Family owned and run, wait staff was very nice and welcoming. First time there and will return again. If you try the baklava ice cream sundae. OH MY it is so delicious.

I went in to this place thinking I could get a good Gyro because of the name... They had one, and it was cooked an ready in 15 minutes.. While I was there I sat at the bar and waited for my food to go....The bar tender was nice and kept a conversation. I wish I could say the same for the Gyro (being good) Nope, it was probably one of the worst Gyro's that I've had. Clearly the meat was frozen (or tasted of it) and then heated on a grill. The pita bread was flat and hard. I just got the feeling that this place was meant more for the locals to go and drink, and maybe get something to eat so they didn't get too drunk, than it was meant to be an eatery.. If it was meant to be an eatery, perhaps they should just knock down the walls, get rid of the tables and build a bigger bar. Sorry Yianni...More

First off, best. Spanakopita. Ever. I don't know what magic they perform, but this spanakopita, with its cheese and spinach and perfect phyllo is superb. The service is spot on (the table behind us was completely vegetarian, and the lady went over every possible option...for the family as well as offering to make an off-menu zucchini item for them). In addition the spankopita, we enjoyed garlic bread, roasted beet salad, chicken souvlaki, and the seafood pasta. We got baklava to go, and I can't wait to go back and try more of the amazing items! One glitch is to know exactly where the entrance for the driveway is since it's a fast road and unforgiving traffic, but luckily there are two ways in/out.More

We went with our 'Travel Through Food' group. There were close to 20 of us who met for an early dinner. Food was great and service and prices were good too. My husband and I each had the creamy Greek lemon chicken soup and shared...a mixed grill entree. Very well seasoned and tasty;)More

I try to go to Yianni's every time I visit Sacramento. Their food is excellent, and they often have belly dancing or a piano guy belting out tunes -- diners can sing along too. Their gyros are to die for as are their lamb shanks.

From the street, Yianni's does not say, "for a wonderful meal you'd best come in here." Now, having eaten at Yianni's I'd say that's quite unfortunate; indeed looks can be deceiving.. We had a truly wonderful meal last night--along with some really delicious drinks--after having...driven by this Greek restaurant at least a hundred times. The interior is not overly impressive but it is very comfortable. It's relaxed and has a certain warmth; it may be right to say that Yianni's is somewhat romantic but mostly it's a very, very pleasant neighborhood restaurant. To start, we had a pomegranate margarita and a standard Moscow mule. The drinks were of good size and mixed to perfection. I could see us returning to Yianni's for the drinks alone--there is a good-size bar and a Happy Hour is indicated--plus the neighborhood atmosphere. We intentionally selected a weekday night as we thought the restaurant would not be busy. There were several folks eating and each group was animated, obviously enjoying each other's company. We could not help but overhear the foursome in the next booth telling the server exactly what they wanted and how they wanted it prepared. I'd say by the comments we also overheard they got exactly what they ordered and they were enjoying it fully. We each ordered a Greek salad and and one mixed grill plate to share. The service was not fast but was attentive and sincere. We placed our order and asked a lot of questions along the way. Each question was well-answered and we were certain we'd ordered the right things. And, as it turned out, we had. The salads were liberal in size, crisp and perfectly cold romaine lettuce laden with cucumbers, green peppers, onions, tomatoes and Kalamata olives with a vinegar and oil dressing. The mixed grill included two lamb chops, chicken souvlaki, pastitisio, spanakopita, dolmathes and bruschetta all in liberal portions. And, cooked just right. In fact, based upon the way the lamb chops were prepared and how they tasted we resolved to return and order the lamb chops as an entrée... mmmm, the chops were good. Desert was baklava ice cream which is large chunks of baklava embedded in a vanilla ice cream. Can I say it? Yes! The baklava ice cream was to die for. Oh, yummie. The menu makes it easy to order American food or Greek food and allows many ways to sample all sorts of Greek specialties. The prices are a bargain when you consider the quality of the food, the preparation and the size of portions. Thank heavens we finally decided to stop and find out what's inside of Yianni's; we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and that means will will be back to sample more of this wonderfully prepared food.More

Best Lamb Chops in Sacramento hands down! This place has a true home dinning feel with the interior design and wood work. The mixed grill plate is the best entree...that or 1lbs of lamb chops

This is a smallish Greek restaurant & bar that draws its regular crowd. Everyone is very friendly and the service is good. The Avgolemeno (Lemon, chicken, rice) soup is very good, as is their Tzatziki (yogurt, cucumber, etc.) dip. Servings are always generous. The specials...can have a tendency to be on the rich side. If you're partial to Greek food, you'll probably enjoy this place.More

Went to Yianni's for luncheon a couple of times and really enjoyed the full luncheons. I had Lamb Shanks -- and they were to die for. Even had enough to take home left overs for another meal. It was delish!

We were looking for a place to have Sunday Brunch and watch a football game. We weren't sure if Yianni's was open and even served breakfast. There were only a few people in the the bar when we arrived and we were seated right away....The friendly waitress came right over and assured us that we could order anything we wanted including breakfast. She suggested the Greek Omelet which two of us did order and the other person in our party ordered her eggs made another way. We were delighted when these huge plates of food came to the table. Everything on our plates was delicious. The service was wonderful, but the game we wanted to see was not on yet. We weren't disappointed though because our breakfast couldn't have been more perfect.More
