We had so many stellar meals in the Carmel area but this one fell a bit flat. Shared the caesar salad to start and then one of us had paella and the other the pork chop and neither were noteworthy. Other much better values to...More

We showed up with a photo of a drink description we'd had at home; bartender was johnny on the spot trying to replicate it. Lively, fun place.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner with some family and friends. We all had something different and were all happy with our meals. Service was good and food quality was suburb. One of the nicest restaurants in Carmel

I am a solo traveller and this place was recommended by my hotel. I had a blast sitting at the bar. The food was delish and the bartender (Aaron) was chatty, friendly and competent. Andrew was an excellent and attentive waiter. Add this spot to...More

Charming is the word that came to mind as soon as my wife and I entered Grasings for dinner. It's fairly small and cozy and some of the tables are quite close together but we really enjoyed it. Our server Kaila was nice and efficient...More

Visited twice in the last month. Delightful setting, varied menu and professional staff. Soups are especially noteworthy. Ingredients very fresh and nice wine list.

Waited 1 hour after reservation and yet still no waiter to take our order. The service was lacking at best. We walked out 2 hours after showing up knowing the evening could only get worse. Not recommended if you don't live in Carmel.

When we planned our trip to California, I wanted to go to at least one restaurant where the dining experience was so top-notch that cost was essentially irrelevant. Grasing's more than fit the bill. Elegant dining experience from beginning to end. Incomparable wine list, and...More

This is by far the best restaurant I have been to in a while. We were early and was taken care of by a very professional but yet user friendly waiter. My wife and I had the halibut and the scallops. The salmon was very...More

I do not know if they serve a Christmas menu. Call and ask would be the best way to get your answer?

Description
As a restaurant with an impressive contemporary menu, Grasing’s offers the finest coastal cuisine paired with a ‘Wine Spectator’ awarding winning wine list featuring the best California wines. For a true Carmel experience, enjoy dinner on the pet-friendly patio.

In March of 1998 Kurt opened the door to his namesake restaurant: Grasing’s. In an impressive first year it received enthusiastic reviews and was voted Best New Restaurant and Best Chef by the readers of Adventures in Dining Magazine. Grasings has been featured in Bon Appetit Magazine’s Best of the Year issue in 2004, and was awarded Carmel Business Association’s Business of the Year award that same year. Carmel Magazine proclaimed Grasing’s the Critic’s Choice. Grasing’s was awarded Carmel Business Association’s Restaurant of the Year as well as a Celebrated Chef of the Year Award from the American Culinary Federation – Monterey Chapter, in 2007. In 2013 Grasing’s was voted Best Restaurant in Carmel by the readers of the Monterey County Weekly. Carmel Pine Cone Readers Poll named Grasing’s the Best Restaurant for a Steak in 2014 and 2015. Open Table diners conferred a 2015 Diner’s Choice Award on Grasing’s and Trip Advisor has given Grasing’s a Certificate of Excellence in 2015 and 2016. 2016 also brought Grasing’s a win for the Best Restaurant for a Special Occasion in 2016 from the Carmel Pine Cone Readers Poll.

In 2010, Kurt revamped Grasing’s by constructing a new bar and lounge along with completing a restaurant make-over. The warm hues and contemporary decor in the restaurant and bar gives Grasing’s an even more inviting atmosphere, giving it a new look with the same great food and first-rate service to which guests are accustomed.
