the service on our first (and Last) visit here was a disaster. Friends who go their often invited us to join them. They knew our server well, and chatted with him for awhile after we were seated. The salad, appetizer and wine came out within a reasonable time. Then we sat, and sat, for at least 40 minutes, finished the... More

After walking around Capitola, we chose to eat at Caruso's. The staff is very friendly and attentive - really nice service! The ambiance is really nice despite being such a small restaurant. Foodwise --- very solid. The Calamari appetizer was amongst the freshest and most tender we've had. However the breading was a bit heavy (but then again, we like... More

We had read about Caruso's both on TripAdvisor and elsewhere. We have been there twice in the last month. Normally I only go out for dinner once or twice a year. The first time we tried they were closed, even though it was a Tuesday. But this is really a family-run restaurant, and if one of the family members is... More

We visit our daughter in Soquel often and have tried so many different Italian restaurants, none of which seem to compare to Italian places we're used to enjoying in the Boston area. But several years ago we found Caruso's and it's now the only place we'll go for Italian food. We were somewhat worried when we didn't see the original... More

We made reservations for a party of eight to celebrate our anniversary. We had to wait a few minutes for them to set our table. This place is very small. The restaurant seats maybe 15 people tops. They move tables into the hallway of the adjoining mall toward the end of the evening. I heard the patrons say they didn't... More

Caruso's has a very talented chef and good service, which saved them from getting only a 2 rating. The dishes are better than other Italian restaurant's and are served in healthy proportions. Caruso's has a large menu selection and wine/drink list, as well. That being said, the dining area is EXTREMELY close-quarter. Tables are in very personal proximity to other... More

Great little Italian place -- perfect for escaping the madding crowd in summer, or getting cozy in winter. Food is really quite good and nicely presented -- along with decent wine list, you can't go wrong.

We went here 2 years ago it was fantastic!! We made a 7 o'clock reservation months ago, when we arrived we were told they don't take reservations. But to our surprise they had several openings at 7 PM on a Friday night, that should have told us something. Caesar salad was Wilted and The taste of anchovies was overwhelming. The... More

This is my second review as Caruso's is now under new management. I can say that the quality of the food and the atmosphere has not changed. It is a great place to eat but very very small, so expect a cosy feel. Try not get seated in the 'mall' area as it does not have the feel of the... More

Yes, very small restaurant. They only take reservations for a party of 6 or more. They just have 5 table area and a sit down at the bar area for 2. Open 5pm last meal served at 9pm for dinner. I had the special for dinner as well as my daughter. You can bring your own wine for a small... More
