Went here based on memory of person in our group. Food was just average. Service was friendly and efficient. Had the "Famous" pea soup. Never again. Gift shop reminded one of a 1950's roadside stand. Would not do this again.

We were told this was one of the stops we needed to make when we were in the area. What a great hometown restaurant. Lots of choices, but you really should just stick with the all you can eat split pea soup bowl.

Who stops for pea soup? Well add it to my bucket list. Worth it for the history lesson on the place/highway/peas. We have driven by several times in years past. Stopped and it was packed Sat 1PM. Waited a few minutes for a table and it was worth it. Huge portion on my Greek salad (adequate bowl of soup before),... More

I am by no means a fan of peas, but the pea soup here was outstanding! My wife and I got the all-you-can-eat meal, and could barely walk out of the restaurant when we were done. The atmosphere was clean and the service was great, so our experience was a comfortable one.

The restaurant is worth a visit, though the soup (once the toppings are added) felt expensive. Food was okay, but service was great. They really try to make you feel at home.

We stopped here recently while driving up Highway 101, curious to see what the restaurant was like - after seeing billboards on the highway. The restaurant is dated and touristy, and the pea soup is just ok. The chicken sandwich was tastier. There is a room upstairs, which houses a small museum - memorabilia on history of the area - very... More

Expectations fully met. Finally had their great split pea soup with all the accompaniments. In bowl, in bread, with bread, good coffee & salads. Check out the gift shop & upstairs museum. They have the recipe & hospitality down pat. New tradition. Will not pass through area again without a stop here.

Driving from Santa Barbara to Cambria.....we stopped at Andersen's for a quick lunch. A huge menu and very large portions! Sandwiches are so large that one between two is ideal! Also a gift shop to have a browse. Again, all staff were very friendly, helpful and polite.

I ate here with a party of 8 for dinner and we all felt pretty good about our meals. A couple of people were happy with the fish and chips, the patty melt looked good, and the Alaskan cod filet was even better than expected. None of us had the pea soup since we're not fans of that type of... More
