After a hike we came to Carmelita's Mexican Grill and we were not disappointed. I had a beef Tostada which was very tasty and my husband had Scrimp Enchiladas with Chipotle Sauce and he said, it was excellent! Would recommend stopping here for a bite. Waitress was great too! Plus had a large Margarita - was good.

We ate here twice during a recent visit to Borrego Springs-the shrimp enchiladas are very generous- lots of big shrimp. The chicken mole enchiladas are very nice. The salsa is fresh and quite good. Service is pleasant.

We had driven from San Diego in the morning. After ä visit at the Anza-Borrego dessert visitor center we were hungry - and needed a lunch before driving in to the dessert. We choosed Carmelita's and did not regret on that.We did get get a table once, but shortly after we came the Place was filled up. The Food tasted... More

Food is great, Margaritas are better. Very clean, service is good, people are friendly can get overwhelmed if its a busy weekend but so does everyone in Borrego.

Good food, good prices, casual family dining atmosphere. Bonus area to dine with your pet in tow. The lemonade tasted a bit synthetic (if thats the right word) but everything else was great.

Super service and attentive staff. Food was solidly good - we had tacos, rice and beans. Margaritas were adequate and large, which is what matters.

Very good guacamole. Easy to get in. Very nice staff. My son enjoyed his burrito and I enjoyed the tacos.

Carmelita's is our 'go-to' for a good meal in Borrego Springs. After many years, they still are consistently good and provide friendly service. During wildflower season, they boosted the staffing and were still able to provide exceptional quality and service. They have the very best cola I ever tasted. The waitress (who we have literally watched grow up over the... More

We went twice as restaurant choices are limited here and good both times, especially the child verde and the chunky guacamole. They give you a small amount of salsa and charge for second! But Overall the prices are reasonable. Not much in atmosphere. The bartender was amazing, so busy and a great attitude and service. Good for everyone I think.... More

We visited Carmelita's during the super bloom. Kendall's was packed and had a 20 minute wait so we came here. We were seated immediately but it took a while to actually be served. The line for the bathroom was also super long. The staff were super busy due to the huge crowd of visitors! Even though service was slow, everything... More
