Possible the best bakery I've visited anywhere! If you've not been, you must go! If you've been, you already know.

Never, ever drive through Bishop without stopping here. Parking can be difficult, but persist, because this bakery is worth it. My favorite bread is their Russian Raisin Pecan loaf. I always buy an extra to freeze. They have a new bread called Mule bread, that is a cross between their famous Sheepherder bread, sourdough bread, and squaw bread. They make... More

I have never seen more choices and great bread creations as at this bakery. We stopped overnight on our way from AZ to northern CA, and loaded up with several loafs. Some will go to family who also love their bread, and some will be frozen to enjoy later. Had a pastry as well. Tasty.

We stopped here a little before the lunch hour and glad we did. This is a very popular spot and lines can get long. However, they move you along very quickly. So glad we stopped there. Food was amazing and for a great price.

We stopped at Erick Schat's Bakkery to pick up some bread for our trip. The most difficult part about this excursion was trying to decide which bread to purchase as there are so many and all smelled and looked so wonderful. We decided on a flax seed sour dough bread and it was fantastic. My friend also purchased a chocolate... More

After many many drives through Bishop on Hwy 395, I finally made a stop here, and what a great decision it was! I loved the fresh smells and warm pastries straight from the oven, and I grabbed more than a couple desserts as I made my way through the line. Such a great stop, and perfect for families!

The pastries are to die for but they really need to update the sandwich menu and add some spices... If you have not been to Schat's then you should really check it out. So take a little bit more time and grab and cup of coffee and a danish. It will not disappoint.

First time to Bishop and I checked out the Bakery. There was ice on the roads and it was raining, and the place was still packed. Food was good, but not crazy good. I also enjoyed an espresso which was great. Brought some of there famous bread home and found it to be good also. I will go again, but... More

Had lunch here. It took awhile to find our bearings. They have so many homemade items. Found the line to order sandwiches. The Mule kick was really good. It came with a pickle spear and cookies. Was enough to split. Everything was so fresh. Afterwards, I looked around to purchase something from the bakery. Many items are not individually marked... More

This is a great place to wander in and pick up some delicious bakery items or fresh baked loaves of bread. Everything is baked fresh daily here.
