We chose El Ranchito as we love Mexican food but where quite late for dinner and the restaurant was still open. The staff was friendly, the food overall o.k. , typical American-Mexican. The burritos where smothered in lots of sauce, the portions very big.

After trying to get into one of the trendier restaurants for breakfast, we settled on this little joint. It looks more like a bar, than a restaurant and was virtually empty at 9 AM, except for one guy at the bar sipping his morning beer. But we were greeted by a very friendly man. We were served very quickly and... More

No frills Mexican restaurant. Family orientated with a great service from the waitress. There wasn't too much veggie choice but we managed to sort something out.

After a long day out hiking, we were too tired to go back to camp and make dinner. By chance, we landed at El Ranchito and it was the best dinner of our whole vacation. The California Burrito was the best inland version of this beach favorite I've tasted. The fish tacos were made with tilapia and perfectly seasoned. Ask... More

I was in the mood for Mexican food. Amigos and El Ranchito are right next to one another. They seemed similar to me. Not sure why I chose El Ranchito, but the service and the food were excellent.

This is real food, not the usual enchilada plate with bad rice and beans! I got campechana, a seafood cocktail kind of thing, my brother got menudo, served on weekends only I understand. Yes they do have the ordinary stuff, but it's better!

Great bones to this Main Street classic. Love the booths and counter stools. It was great as a greasy spoon as the Bishop Grill but became just another Mexican joint in Bishop as El Ranchito. Do yourself a favor and head a couple of doors down to Amigos for better Mexican food.

We were in Bishop for a couple days and managed to eat at El Ranchito twice. We had tacos the first visit and really enjoyed them. They were good and a fairly large serving. I will definitely go back on my next trip to Bishop.
