My sister, who was staying with us up at Big Bear, along with her daughter, suggested sea food. We had had steak the previous evening. Captain's Anchorage Restaurant (CAR) fit the bill. From pork steak to salmon, the food was plentiful and good. The water was fantastic and so helpful. The wine was impressive and more reasonably priced than first... More

Stopped by Captains anchorage for dinner. At first glance prices seemed a little high, but after realizing meal came with full salad bar and soup, got to say it was worth every penny. Portions are generous, meat was cooked to perfection. The Prime rib was tender and juicy, Captions Chicken was outstanding a must try. Seem other entrees while there... More

We have enjoyed the Captain's Anchorage for many many years. My husband grew up in Big Bear, and he still owns the house, so when we come up we never miss an opportunity to come here. Unfortunately, this experience wasn't up to the usual standard. We had a reservation for 6 people at 7:00pm, but when we arrived they said... More

Rice was a little salty, but the wine, Merlot, was a good buy. Service was superior and the staff chatty and friendly. A little pricey but was very... More

I really expected some thing better for a $50 dinner. The salad at the salad bar was so wet that when you added your dressing you had salad soup. Speaking of soup.. the French Onion was very greasy and not even warm. No one under 5'5'' could possibly reach the back of the self-serve bar, so I missed many of... More

The food was good. All the meals are overpriced. The staff was very friendly, we stayed talking at our table about 2 hours after we had paid the bill and the staff came to the table to refill our drinks 2 times.
