We had brunch in this restaurant on the bay. There were 7 in our party and we had a reservation for the first seating. We had to remind the waitress to bring several items we ordered or requested (such as water, hot water for tea, or hot sauce). One of our appetizers didn't arrive until after our main courses. The... Location on the water overlooking the Bay, bridges and beyond....food mediocre...and very expensive.Waited for drinks in the Lounge forever (20 mins). Good drinks but after that wait, we were ready to die of dehydration. Appetizers of calamari and dragon roll were good but California Roll..not so good. Biggest disappointment was their special feature entree of Steelhead Fish DROWNING in a... More

First of all I highly recommend you make a reservation for this wonderful place on the bay! If you don't you might wait for a while...either way, it's worth it. We were lucky enough to get a great window seat and it was magic from then on. Our waiter was Ray...ask for his section...he was fun, informative and on top... More

I was enjoying a coffee with my partner there only to watch the breathtaking views from this restaurant. It was amazing! We didn't try the menu but some people were having dinner and everything looked delicious. About the price, it was not too expensive if you have in mind the great views you can enjoy comparing to other restaurants in... More

I really loved the structure, interior and ambiance of the restaurant. The view outside was spectacular especially when the sun set. We were very well accommodated by our waiter, he was really helpful and would check on us once in a while. Excellent service for such a busy restaurant. Food was delicious, the oysters were fresh. The steak was unfortunately... More

Went there during a work day for an early lunch, so got a window seat. The view itself worth the visit. The food was simple, but nice and clean. A definitely worthy way for an easy gathering. Will try dinner next time.

This is a great place to bring out of town guests. It is very impressive being on the Berkeley Marina. The surroundings is very nice with great views of the Bay! The restaurant has a wonderful bar for waiting (if you have no reservation), atmosphere, drinks and food. The place is very nice, clean, the staff is courteous, friendly and... More

Clam chowder & garlic bread is very good, the sea bass looks scary but tasted ok. The key lime pie is good.

Visited for a friend's birthday. A good selection of fish, but the prime rib is always a favourite of mine when I visit Skates. A great view of the City across the Bay too.

Our waitress Taz was great. Food was OK. My croissant sandwich was the best of the four meals ordered, and it was good, tasty, filling. My husband's croque monsieur was small; he ended up finishing my bfast. A friend's duck and tortilla specialty didn't have any duck, just tortilla and sauce. The apologized and took $10 off her meal. Coffee... More
