We've come here over the years and noticed a bartender who served us years ago. He is very knowledgeable and makes great drinks. Get a table by the open windows if you can, and be sure to order their house fries too!

The tapas at Cesar might be very tasty but we were in such a hurry to eat and escape the loud noise on a Friday evening that we practically swallowed our meals while. Try it at a quieter time and the food can be truly appreciated.

Had great tapas--shrimps and swordfish in flavored sauces. And Spanish wine. We were also not bugged by the waitstaff, despite staying for 2 and 1/2 hours

I go to Cesar with friends for early evening drinks or a meal. If you know what to order, you won't be disappointed. Among them: any fish dishes, french fries (of course) and various cold plates. Great service. Small wine selection, though, if you like good wine.

We had the soup and small plates. Excellent, filling and perhaps a bit expensive. Also the local stout! Small menu and from past experience main dishes too were very good. May be wrong, perhaps the only Spanish style restaurant in the Gourmet Ghetto.

This place has really great tapas and good mixed drinks and wine. The menu changes somewhat regularly, but there are always favorites on there. I usually like their cheese options and they do a good potato/fish tapas.

We arrived before 5:00 PM at this tapas bar restaurant because they take no reservations. There were ample tables to choose from and we sat down and perused the menu and wine list. There were many interesting wines by the glass, mostly from Spain but also Italy France and California. We plotted out our choices of food and ordered a... More

We visited the place for lunch. The tapas are REALLY small, and cost slight less than $10. We ordered on and also the Paella (large dish for two, at $27). While the size was fine, it was definitely on the salty side. The place itself looks very nice, and might be a great place for drinks.

While visiting my brother in the Berkeley area, we decided to grab dinner - and since neither of us was very hungry, we thought tapas would do the trick. I'm so glad we found Cesar! The restaurant was pretty busy on a Saturday night, so we opted to sit at the bar. I highly recommend it - you can get... More

My favorite place to go to eat food that I don't cook at home, and always delicious. Very lively, super cocktails, and great setting. It's a little loud to have an intimate conversation at night, but wonderful for lunch or an aperitif. The tables open on to the sidewalk for a view of Berkeley life strolling by.
