Chocolatier Blu at this location closed for business in October 2016. The location on University Avenue in Berkeley is still open and not to be missed if you are uptown.

This reminded me of a small chocolate shop I saw in France. It has the same atmosphere. The women behind the counter were very nice and the flavors were unusual. I purchased six different chocolates and although they were very good, I wasn't hooked. It was a great experience and I would probably buy again when visiting the area.

I really do. I always stop when I see a local store. I'm used to paying a little more at these shops. The chocolate here is good, but not the best I've ever had. A little overpriced, but worth a stop if you like chocolate.

We're new to Berkeley. Had lunch at Pedro's Brazil Cafe next door and had to stop for a chocolate. The two cheerful young women behind the counter offered us a free honey sage chocolate, which was wonderful. Bought a box of 6 assorted ones for $12. They are all soft centers in interesting flavors. I loved the chili and the... More

Cute little storefront and decided to stop in. They had a lot of chocolates out on display and they looked so appetizing. We bought 12 different pieces and they were all delicious. They offered some flavors that you would not regularly find in stores. The chocolates were coated with cocoa butter and they almost looked fake. The spay on makes... More

Listen, when you are just coming out of a stressful week, nothing beats great chocolate or ice cream to lift your spirits. Chocolatier Blue has both and calling their ice cream and chocolate "great" is lazy. But it is a rainy Sunday afternoon while I am writing this, so "great" it is (if in a more productive mood, I think... More

If you walk into the facility, someone will deign to take an order. The chocolates are very good. However, do not try to order the chocolates online, you will not get what you ordered. I have wondered if this is how they get rid of chocolates no one will buy. I have never gotten what I ordered...

Friend wanted ice cream (which I was looking forward to) and when we walked in, I thought, oh, darn, there are only two or three ice cream flavors, none of which I like. I decided to taste the chocolate sorbet and was not disappointed. Wow, it's like eating liquid 70 percent cocoa in a cone. The cones are thick and... More

Though the flavors are a bit odd. The ice cream is delicious and if they are still serving it, I like the spicy hot chocolate.

The store is small but at the right place on 4th Street, Berkeley, with Apple Store, Mac, Bare Minerals, Restaurants, Clothes, Shoes, Rugs, and more around! It has some round small tables and chairs outside to enjoy your treats. We have been here twice in a week and both time we have chosen ice-cream, because since the Vanilla is real... More
