Sometimes ya just gotta have curry. And eggplant. And chicken tikka masala. And...you get the picture. Better than most, and even better the next day! Snug little eatery in bustling Rockridge. Great service, moderate prices, and beer and wine. Ambiance warm and inviting, noise level mellow. Extensive menu, impressive. Tried salmon(so good), eggplant, spinach (surprising smokey flavor), lamb, biryani, paneer,... More

This is hands down my go-to place for Indian food in this city. The chicken tikka masala is my favorite as well as the garlic naan. It is a great spot and offers choices on the level of spice with the curries. Staff is always friendly and very nice. This is a great place to check out for Indian food.

Overall good place for some solid Indian food. I particularly like the sheeh kebab, others like the lamb and vegetarian dishes, and the samosas are wonderful.

Easy to order online or at the venue, and the food is consistently good, and can be as "hot/spicy" as you wish. Staff is very friendly, and there is room enough inside that you can enjoy a quick dining experience there.

Off the cuff we decided to try this place, it looks like a little hole in the wall, but ended up being a pleasant surprise! chicken Vindaloo and garlic naan were delicious!

Serviceable. The food was fine. Standard issue. Little bit of communication challenge with server. Restroom took me back to the Indian subcontinent, for better or worse. Sticky, dirty by American standards, but there was soap.

Flavors of India (3211 College Ave., Berkeley, CA 94705, tel. 510658-3461). It’s a tiny place that is very basic. Dimitri had a set lunch called Baingan Bharta (eggplant and a garbonzo bean dal with rice and naan) for $7.99 and he was happy with the tastes and the quantity. Audre asked for a small cup of soup of yellow lentils.... More

Having tried a lot of the Indian restaurants in this area, this is the one for me that offers consistent quality and a real subtlety of spice and flavor not found at the usual places. You might miss this place; it's a tidy but tiny storefront near the corner of College and Alcatraz. The in-restaurant service is spotty, but for... More

We just came back from a trip to Oakland/Berkeley with family and friends and went to this restaurant - recommended by them. It was excellent! The atmosphere is very casual, like a neighborhood family restaurant. The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful, explaining all of the specials to us. We had both vegetarian and meat dishes (chicken vindaloo, paneer tikka... More
