It looks fine. It seems clean, but I got sick after eating lunch here, and so did an associate on another occasion. Beware.

We stopped in for the second time to have the delicious buffet. I want to come for dinner and try some of their South Indian food sometime soon. Nice quiet environment.

Good place to get lunch near University Ave. in Berkeley. Many other places are very so-so, Priya is decent, nice and bright. Lunch buffet featured goat curry (rare) and mango custard.

Priya has a nice lunch buffet with a number of delicious options. Especially enjoyed the chicken tikka masala and the pakoras. Looking forward to ordering off the menu next time.

Priya jas a lunch buffet, and it looked fine, but we were glad to have ordered from the menu. The South Indian platter included modal a dosa, idli, and sambar, all terrific and about 3 times more than I could ever eat in a meal. My wife got a fish tikka and loved it. An altogether excellent lunch served with... More

I came here for Cal Day with my daughter who will be attending in the fall. We walked here from our hotel which wasn't such a smart idea. Once inside, it was wonderful. Our host was very gracious and the food was quite good bordering on excellent. It could be the best value for the money considering a full dinner... More

The buffet here had many selections from which to choose, especially liked the pakora, goat and chicken curries, and biryani. Foods had good flavor and spice, not overly hot. We also had the masala dosa and idli sambar so that we tasted traditional southern Indian foods. Chutneys were good, especially the mint one. For desert, their were several selections, I... More

Been a fan of the food at Priya (not the restaurant itself) for years when lived in the Bay Area. We would always do takeout. Located in a seedy part of Berkeley (lower University Avenue). The interior and exterior of the restaurant is old, dirty and rundown (your basic "dive"). Don't expect any pleasantries from the owner, either. Actually ate... More

I had the Lamb on a Thali menu. The Lamb Kanai (I believe that was the name) was outstanding, very tasty. Prices were very reasonable, especially due to the volume of food. I will have a big lunch tomorrow on the leftovers. The place was not busy but it was Tue evening. Service was great. I am in town for... More

Food was good, but portions are too big. Who can eat that much bread and rice? I was turned off when $10 of my change accidentally made it into the pocket of the waiter. It came out awfully fast when I told him I was a bit short.
