We went to Taste of the Himalayas after being shut out of Chez Panisse and ended up having a relaxed delicious and generous meal instead. The lentil soup that comes with every dish is very filling. We ordered the dumplings that had a nice ginger flavor. The meat was tender and flavorful - both a chicken and a lamb dish... More

Was on a weekday, solo.. Samosa's are to be recommended very tasty and well done. Had a boneless lamb in tasty sauce with mushrooms. Serving size was just right for one person. Atmosphere quiet and pleasant. Was in Berkeley for a week would come back again; reasonably priced.

My husband and I took our granddaughter there for dinner, at her request. She is a freshman at Cal and had been there with her mom and friends, before. She raved about how good the food is and helped us order. We order a chicken dish, a lamb dish and one other, which I don't recall. She ordered an appetizer... More

Had an okay lunch at Taste of the Himalayas this week. Curries were okay and the rice was well cooked but the naan was not good. The service was good though.

They seem to have goat curry or goat and rice, a great dish. I enjoy the garlic naan and the samosas. Always helpful, but come in a group, dishes are generous and it is more fun to share.

After so many days, I was able to find one restaurant with authentic Indian taste, and it was great. Tried mutter paneer, and vegetable biryani and I would say that the chef did justice to the taste. Loved this place.

Went with family for dinner. Good space and ambience. Interior done with Nepalese décor and is run by Himalayans too. Loved flavour of goat curry, taste of chicken with Indian styled bread ( naan) and rice. Reasonable rates too. Would love to dine again

It was not overcrowded which was great. We sat right down and had very prompt courteous service. The Mango Lassi is a delicious drink that goes well if you like your food spicy. We had two chicken dishes and one lamb with rice and naan. All were tasty. We would come back for more.

This was our 2nd visit to Berkeley and we again dined at Taste... It was again outstanding. The vegetarian Mo-mo's were great and on par with those we ate in Kathmandu. Would highly recommend!

I have been going to this restaurant for years, and it is a treasure! Over time, I've sampled many, if not most, of the items on the menu, and have been delighted with them all! On my most recent visit, with an Indian-American friend, who also happens to be vegetarian, we had a wonderful meal, starting with Samosas for an... More
