Right in the heart of Belmont is a wonderful restaurant with wholesome fresh food, fair prices and a beautiful decor. You need only drive by the restaurant on any evening and see a full parking lot to know how well liked and respected Shalizar is in the community. It is the restaurant that always look for with great ambience, nice... More

I came with a large group of friends (about 20), everyone was nice and they fixed up part of the restaurant for our large group. They took our order and the waiter was super nice, he explained to me the dishes and he gave me recommendations. They even gave me a few things to try out as samples before ordering.... More

Very tasty and authentic Persian food. Service was good, although a bit rushed. Portions were generous. The basic kebabs were particularly good. The house side salad was OK, but the tomatoes tasted like winter tomatoes (out of season). Definitely a worthwhile place to visit.

The waiter was super rude even when we wanted to order. He refused to split the check for three group of people.

I have never had Persian food before, a co-worker of mine though is from Iran, and knows good Persian food, this is good Persian food. Between the 4 of us we only had two different plates, but everything was wonderful. There's so much food they give you too, the value is excellent. Service was somewhat slow to start, but that... The service is wonderful and the food is beautifully seasoned. I had a pomegranate and walnut sauce on my entre that was heavy and delicious. There is one vegetarian dish on the menu. My husband is more of an American style food eater so this isn't his favorite place. Our daughter and son love it. They had kabobs that were... More

We were there visiting North CA. Had a dinner there that made us to come back and repeat our pleasant experience. We had a rainbow trout with Persian rice mixed with vegetables. The waiters and owner were quite respectful and hospitable. The inside is great too.
