Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in the Riverside Park hotel and so ate here on 1 evening. The menu is very limited if you don't eat meat, the prices are very high also for what you get. The staff were very friendly though and it has a nice...atmosphere. A bit of a mixed bag for us.More

Whenever we stay in the Riverside Park Hotel, we invariably make our way to the Promenade Bar to sample the menu. As always we were warmly welcomed by the wonderful team who always go the extra mile to look after customers. Even with such a...professional and committed team, sometimes an episode stands out as being particularly praiseworthy. A family with a special needs child were seated close to our table, and to see the level of attention and kindness shown by Andrew Balfe was truly heartwarming. We ordered a chicken noodle stir fry and a curry. Both were delicious, generous portions and we enjoyed every mouthful. Being a Sunday evening we were treated to two separate musical performances. The first was John Hogan, a regular who always gives a very enjoyable performance. Later Richard Turner made his debut in the Promenade Bar.....not only is he an amazing singer with a vast repertoire but his guitar playing is nothing short of astounding. A truly delightful performance, and we look forward to seeing Richard in the future. It was also good to see non residents returning to the Promenade Bar, seeing many familiar faces again was great. A big thank you to all the Promenade Bar team: each and everyone of you makes us very welcome, and we always look forward to returning.More

My family and I enjoyed a lovely and plentiful meal here recently. We were seated very quickly and were well looked after by the very attentive staff. The food was delicious and the portions were certainly plentiful. Excellent service, food and value.

Had fish and chips, it was so fresh and tasty. The portions were so big, it was hard to finish. It was a little pricy, but then again covid has pushed up prices everywhere which is understandable.

Staying at the Riverside, we loved the Promenade bar best. A great menu, good value and we never felt rushed. And they do a perfect Pint. Top marks.

The promenade bar is part of the lovely Riversidepark Hotel. Situated on the banks of the River Slaney, the view from the large windows is delightful. A warm welcome awaits from the staff who go out of their way to make everyone welcome. We had...a carvers lunch on this visit: cottage pie which was delicious. A couple of drinks, a nice chat with the staff mate our (all too short) lunchtime visit very pleasant indeed.More

We dropped in here for a late meal. Service was friendly, quick and professional. The menu provides a nice variety of food selections for both the large or small appetite. The salads were freshly made with a variety of ingredients and a tasty house dressing....Our entrees were very good as well, served hot and nicely garnished. You can order cocktails or a cold beer to go with your meal. They also have deserts on the menu. Enjoy!More

We regularly stay in the Riversidepark Hotel and always visit the Promenade Bar for a meal and a drink or two. The bar menu has a good choice, and is good value. The food is always very well presented and tastes great. Pizzas are particularly...nice here! The bar staff are very friendly and efficient: even during busy times (such as Easter) there is always someone to call for a refill. What makes the bar staff stand out is the recognition of regular guests and the warm greetings offered! We always enjoy our visits to the Promenade. Well worth a visit, even if not staying in the Hotel.More

Asked for chicken to be added to a Caesar salad. Despite chicken being available on other dishes (sandwiches and another chicken salad dish) this was not possible. Surely a straightforward request that a competent kitchen could accommodate?
