Very good food.

We had breakfast there this Sunday morning. It was very busy and hard to get into as it is quite small. When we were seated the three of us were given two menus and a pancake menu. We ordered a large breakfast, a half breakfast and a pancake stack. The full breakfast was incomplete and when I pointed it out it was still incomplete when they brought some more. The food was good particularly the sausages. Service was a bit abrupt. The toilet was poor.

Wonderful place , just been in with my family . Welcomed with a smile , sat at a lovely table with a little privacy , just beside kitchen. Served promptly by friendly professional staff member , drinks and food arrived quickly , wonderfully presented with excellent fresh lightly dressed salads . Start to finish excellent! Excellent value and a wonderful varied menu to suit all tastes . Cookies for my 2 boys complimentary as we were leaving . 5 star place . Well done to all 👍

Delicious 😋

This cafe is a MUST if you are in Enniscorty. Stop and get takeaway if passing through. I had the warm goats cheese salad, without doubt one of the most delicious meals I have had. My husband had the seafood chowder, he said, best ever, he felt full after the huge bowl, not an easy feat. It is also very interesting inside, brilliantly decorated and the girl who looked after us was super nice.

Seriously disappointed - avoidable bad experience

Having visited and enjoyed many visits to The Cotton Tree we recently experienced a totally avoidable bad experience. Fairly busy on arrival for breakfast, we stood at the door for a minute or two waiting to be shown to a table. We were left with menus for over 10 minutes without any sign of being looked after. Received our accompanying drinks fairly quickly and a further 10 to 15 mins later we received our dishes. The prices were high for the breakfast and hot drinks based on our experiences elsewhere in Wexford and I felt it reasonable to expect good service and great quality food. However, I was disappointed with the quality, temperature and size of the items. My bacon, tomato, beans and toast and tea/coffee were not good. All these are basic items on a good quality 'Full Irish'. The diced potato, sausage and pudding were of good quality but one of my two sausages was 'turning' and going sour. The other one was was lovely. Apart from being cold by the time breakfast arrived, the tea was not to my taste. It was not possible to get decent brown sauce and nothing other than the horrible generic brand was available. Relish was also a non runner! The wrong toasted bread served with the other breakfast, coffee also well cold by the time breakfast was received....otherwise this was OK. If I've missed anything in this detail I'm sure the 'manager' will be happy to clarify further. Upon bringing our poor experience to the managers attention when I was settling the bill, I was met with the response - "well I believe you weren't very nice to the girl that served you either!" Nothing could be further from the truth as I am always respectful - even when things don't go to plan. Every business is entitled to a bad day and nothing that we experienced at our table that could not have been resolved. The manager, whose name I will withhold out of respect for him, could have dealt with this so much better. Asked to elaborate on his assertions he was unable to back up and became confrontational and was totally unapologetic. As a rule and out of respect for the work they do, I have always made a point of letting a business know if things weren't as good as perhaps they would like, and in doing so I try hard to be objective and fair at all times. On this occasion I was completely taken aback by the response, paid and left. I doubt very much if we will return as it wasn't just one bad sausage that left a sour taste! Looking at other negative reviews I see you love a bit of comedy, and I hope that my spelling and grammar are up to your standards. Perhaps you should concentrate on your customer service skills and focus on improving some of your business practices. A really honest look is needed by those at the helm to bring this once excellent eatery back to its best again. We are all human, we all make mistakes - but it's what you do to fix the mistakes that matters.

Expensive snacks.

Visited Cotton Tree recently and ordered 2 Cappuccinos and 3 scones and was charged €17 in total. I thought it was a bit expensive as the Cafe is not exactly 5 star. The local hotel does Cappuccino and scone for €6. Also a glass of orange juice from a carton was €4.50.

Nice surroundings, pleasant staff and the menu had a good selection. I ordered a toasty and coffee, when it arrived the presentation was very good but unfortunately the bread seemed as it was several days old, very hard and hard to chew. I did mention this when paying and they did apologise. Pity as it looks a nice place.

Excellent food and service

Visited twice and on both occasions the food and service was excellent. Covid rules covered as each area was well wiped down after each use before it was allowed to be reused. The food was well cooked and hot, breakfast was not greasy and good helpings. Staff pleasentand helpful. Will call again. Thanks

Was a surprise given the 4+ rating!

Reheated lunch - not impressed. Lasagna and chips. Seemed like day old chips and the lasagna spent too much time under the heat lamp. The baked ham open sandwich was better and certainly a good portion. And the washroom, well best seen after a good clean especially the door.

Eclectic place with tasty food

Stopped here for brunch and was pleasantly surprised. Interior is a little compact when busy but the food was very good. Salads are great but went for a small breakfast which was quite generous with toast and home made brown bread. Worth dropping in for a coffee and scones as well.

Stopped for coffee, juice, & rhubarb crumble. Great food, great service from friendly likeable staff. Labyrinthine In an appealing way, with quirky framed prints of old concert posters & music scores on the walls. The toilet was good. We liked it & we will be back & can recommend it.

Beautiful late lunch

Had the privilege of calling for a late lunch last Saturday. Just walked in and got a lovely table by the window by a really friendly waitress. The warm chicken and chrispy bacon salad was out of this world, great portion size. My wife had a falafel salad which she really enjoyed. We were only sorry we didn’t have room for some of the cakes that were on display. Really liked the lunch and the place!

A quick lunch in a gorgeous cafe

Myself and my friend stopped in on a road trip from Kildare and had a gorgeous lunch here. I had a pitta bread with hot chicken and salad and it was delicious. It came with gorgeous coleslaw, crisps and salad and the portion was perfect. Staff were lovely and the cafe itself was so pretty and clean. Highly recommend!

Lovely unique interioue and beautiful fresh food.

The experience was excellent, interiors are unique. Would you recommend to anybody, either with friends or family.Excelent fresh food, quick service with a smile. We arived when it was fool,we left our phone number and went for a walk they called us within 10 minutes and had a table ready when we returned, it was well worth the wait.

Stopped in to the Cotton Tree, made very welcome, service and food were fantastic. Great atmosphere, really enjoyed our lunch. We had vegetarian lasagna and soup of the day. Cater for vegetarians which is great. Thanks and look forward to visiting again.

A wonderful lunch

What an amazing find. This is a must for anyone who wants to enjoy a tasty meal. We stopped for a lunch and were blown away with how good the food was. Nothing short of alchemy, the blend of ingredients astounded us. I would consider myself well versed in flavours.. The cotton tree treated me to a lesson in what can be achieved with great ingredients.
