Had a fab evening meal here recently. We arrived without booking and were given a table outside which was perfect on a very warm day. Food was excellent, portions generous and service very good. In particular the chips were very tasty. Prices are also reasonable....We’ll definitely be backMore
Amazing atmosphere and staff, very friendly and accommodating. Steak pitta is amazing and all the desserts were beautiful!
I had a mixed grill which was amazing. Also, they serve Super Bok which is a beer I love to drink in Portugal.
The food here is tasty although some (like the chips) are not much above fast food. Service is friendly but very abrupt: the other half of our table were barely given an opportunity to sit before they were asked for their orders. Usually I prefer...that empty plates are taken quickly and dessert/coffee orders taken soon after the main meal is finished, but here, you barely get a chance to put your cutlery away before the table is cleared. Overall, though, it is a pleasant spot.More
After being seated early evening for over an hour before any food being put on the table..we were GONE after 20 mins..Worst service EVER, I would say to anyone WALK ON BY THIS PLACE. Manager VERY ABRUPT, Dont know why the staff would work for...him. Save your hard earned money for elsewhere.More
Popped in here without a booking and was given a table inside without issue. Food was lovely and service by Vanessa was excellent. Really enjoyed our meal and there was a nice atmosphere. I have seen negative reviews for Casa d'Galo but in all honesty,...our experience was a positive one.More
Another excellent meal from “the galo” and David & Diva Conroy. A firm favorite w locals and 17/18 years in business says it all - well done & thank you to Jack for always being so friendly - Mary
Excellent food authentic Portuguese Fast pleasant service Ate outside by personal choice - both inside and outside venues charming Highly recommend Merits 5 stars 🌟
Just returned from a beautiful meal at Casa d'galo with my family. We booked at the very last minute and were given a table in the outside, area. The waitresses were all lovely, but the owner less so. However, the food was excellent. Our steaks...were cooked as we asked, generous portions, reasonably priced and super tasty all round. It is the best meal I have had in a long time. You should go!More
Despite being local this was my first visit. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic so fair play to the chef. Portions were big and the price was very reasonable. I will certainly be going again.
Food only ok. Staff only ok. Owner very rude. Everything felt rushed. Be better off to go to a good chipper..
PLEASE keep OUT Food= is very average and very expensive. Everything is bought in Lidl. I've seen the owner recently shop in it. Wine= is bought in Lidl and charged at unreal prices . Staff= are ok Owner = Is the most arrogant person I've...ever met he should ran out of the industry .. A friend of mine got a lump of charcoal in his food a while ago. Owner didn't want to no about it Friend said he wasn't one bit nice...More
I have been to this restaurant so many times I should have a season ticket. Since 2005 I have been here the food is great the atmosphere is great, the food is Portuguese and the piri piri chicken is really nice. For me you can...always tell a good restaurant or hotel when the staff have been there for years and this place is just that, you can see they look after their staff, so if you want a restaurant and meal that is a little bit different then give this place a go.More
We went here for my birthday 6th October. From the minute we were placed at a table meant for 6 that was unlaid till the time we left it was like being we were the aliens. People with Local accents were being served before us,...I asked for the wine menu which appeared I choose a wine then when the man came to take the drinks order we were told they had house red or white!!!!!! We asked for the red.... he arrived with it and popped the cork and poured it I my glass and went to pour some in my partners glass when I said I would like to taste it he stood with his hand on his hip . The waitress took our order then came back to say they did not have my partners dish so he reordered the duck and I asked her for this to be done medium rare......she looked at me as if I had 3 heads.....I asked if the Mediterranean salad was served warm again I had 3 heads.... As I have fed people for the last 30 years in my many restaurants I know my food and how to cook it! The waitress returned with our food where she managed to knock my wine glass over she put the duck down and said it comes as it comes......the Mediterranean salad was just a green salad....the salmon was over cooked . So the overall experience was bad service if you were not Irish (which I am but do not speak with an accent) and the attitude that serve the customers anything they will not know the difference......but I did as I have had my own restaurants.More
