Long time customer here. I’ve always loved eating at the Stars of India. No matter what kind of lockdown we face in Thurles, I regularly enjoy getting takeaway dinners to spoil myself when I can. I highly recommend the “Chef’s special Chicken” along with “Pilau...Rice” with a bottle of Cobra beer. If you’re feeling very cheeky, grab an “Onion Bhaji” starter and some “Peshwari Nan bread”. We have always eaten here as the food has always been excellent. However with the onset of Covid we resorted to takeaways. Again the food has been excellent as always. However I would really like to compliment all the staff on the extraordinary effort they...have made to make it safe to collect food and their excellent customer service. We would highly recommend this restaurant not only for its food which is first class but also the service which us second to none.More

Myself and my girlfriend visited Stars of India this month. It was a last minute booking however we got a seat for 2. When we arrived, we seen a busy restaurant however it was clear to see they were understaffed and overbooked for the night...(even with Covid-19 restrictions). We sat and read the menus and our order wasn't taken for 25 minutes. We were then asked to move table and waited another 20 minutes before any food arrived. The starters were an Onion Bhaji and Pakora which tasted okay however they needed more sauce to accompany them as it was dry without any. The mains were lovely of mango chicken and tikka masala. We ordered a side of garlic naan bread which came burnt and was plain naan bread. The staff were too busy downstairs as they were understaffed, I went downstairs and complained and in fairness it was rectified. The overall experience was average. The waitress was lovely and felt sorry for her as she clearly needed help and the kitchen couldn't keep up with the amount of orders coming through due to the delays.More

We decided to have a takeaway meal this evening. It was delicious,tasty good quality meal. They added in a generous helping of poppadoms and a can of orange. 10% reduction for booking directly with them as opposed to using the Just Eat website. visted here on friday (06/03/20) from derry. me and my girlfriend were down for the weekend, couldn't decide where to eat so we took a look on TripAdvisor. from the minute we walked in the door we were greated by the fantastic staff. the food...was unbelievable!! i had the jalfrezzi and my girlfriend had the korma. both were beautiful. the prices are very very good and even better when u consider how great the food was. will definitely be back the next time we visit thurles.More

We visited Stars of India over the Christmas as part of a large group for the Christmas party they were throwing. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful all night. The food was absolutely fantastic, every bit of it, and the portion sizes were perfect,...nobody was left hungry. We all had plenty to eat and drink on the night and the food/drink coupled with the fantastic live music made it the best overall restaurant experience I’ve had in Thurles. Finally, the owner of the restaurant put a lot of effort into checking on us and chatting; and his enthusiasm and sense of humour was very refreshing. It’s one of the best restaurants I’ve been to and whether you’re ordering takeaway or decide to sit in, I cant recommend it any higher. By far the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to. Excellent food and service will definitely be back. Staff couldn't have done any more for us value for money was also brilliant
