After recently attending a wedding at the Red Door the setting was lovely and the food was exceptional. It was by far the best wedding meal as a guest I've had (and we have been to 5 stars all over), however it was the staff...that made the meal for me Brook was a phenomenal waitress no task was too big, she was full of fun. Overall 120% service thank you!More

I had my dream wedding here and everything was perfect from start to finish. As a bride I was panicking a little towards the end wondering how all would go on the day but I needn't have worried a bit. Frances and the team are...the height of professionalism and what's more all the staff are lovely, friendly people. They truly made the day extra special. Many of the guests even mentioned how great Frances and the staff were. The location is absolutely stunning for wedding photos. We got so many snaps at the water, on the swing and under some of the beautiful big trees on the grounds. The menu was something that stood out when we were looking at venues and The Red Door is a real gem for foodies. The quality of the produce and the skill that the chef has is second to none. It was absolutely delicious. The only thing I didn't like was leaving! I can't think of anywhere better that we could have celebrated our big day. The Red Door is one special special place and those who make the magic happen are a credit to the venue.More

Such a wonderful experience my entire party had on Saturday for my sons confirmation lunch. Such a magical setting and we were blessed with fantastic weather. Each course was faultless and our whole party commented on how delicious the meal was. Nothing was a bother...and everyone we came in contact with that worked in the hotel was so welcoming and polite. Thank you. A precious day made even more special by a fantastic group of staff and a 5* lunch.More

Had a wonderful afternoon tea hosted by the Red Door on a gorgeous warm sunny March afternoon. There were 17 of us plus a couple of small babies and everyone was well accommodated. Nothing was too much to ask when arrangements were made before the...day. I spoke to Mags on the phone and she was wonderful in the advice and help she gave. We ordered prosecco for the table but due to some drivers and pregnant guests, I was able to bring my own non-alcoholic alternative too which the venue kindly chilled for me. I requested first to ensure this was ok. The venue was very comfortable, in a beautiful setting, with fabulous afternoon tea spread and friendly staff. Can’t recommend enough!More

A beautiful venue in a beautiful setting. But Staff make this place, their warmth and friendly manner are second to none. From the lady on reception from Letterkenny (whose name escapes me) right through to Peter in the bar. We went to the Red Door...for my mum and dads 40th Wedding Anniversary and what a treat. We were a group of 23 with mixed age group’s ,grandparent’s adults young adults and teenager’s celebrating our mums special BIG birthday it’s not easy getting a group like that together willingly, but mention the Red Door and it’s very easy😁 From start to finish,...the experience was fantastic! Frances and mags welcomed us all on arrival and showed us through to the bar (I think it might be called Kate’s room) where Peter was waiting for us with a lovely bubble’s reception 🍾🍾🥂🥂it was so relaxing to just sit together and relax and catch up..we were then showed to our tables that the team had decorated beautifully with the balloons we had provided. The meal was divine - between us all I’d say we had everything on the menu & practically wanted to lick our plates it was that good! Plus, the customer service was brilliant too, even with the strict covid measures in place, there was loads of space between each table tbh that’s why we love it here as the tables are not on top of each other. Can’t wait to go back. Great to see such a gorgeous place doing so well - Would highly recommend it! The food was top notch there wasn't one thing that was served to us that didn't warrant a 10+ it was unreal. Our servers Tracey and her team thank you all so much for taking all the beautiful pictures and being so helpful, always smiling and attentive we will be back soon………More

This was our first visit of the year and sorry to say a disappointing one. We know things have changed because.of Covid but the prices have increased but the menu choices not as good, portions smaller and food def not as it was. We have/had...4 restaurants in Donegal that we.loved so it was such a treat to finally get back to done. The bar service was extremely slow which was disappointing. We both had Goats.cheese to start it was lovely. Unfortunately fillet steak wasn't on the menu so went for sirloin and lamb. The dauphoinese potatoes were the worst ever so bad you couldn't get a.knife through them. The cheese was burnt to a crisp and if there was cream in it it was a minimal amount at 4.95 euros a portion you would expect it to be right. The lamb was.ok but.absuely no gravey and lacked flavour and at 28.95 euros I expected something nice. Would we go back? No. Were we disappointed? Absolutely. After many years of dining here it breaks my heart to write this but a bill of 159 euros and to walk away unhappy with our bill guys you need to sort things out.More
