I took my girlfriend here for her 30th birthday today. We went for a pint at lunchtime, then went walking along the river (which is literally at the end of the pub garden!) with our dog for a few hours which was absolutely beautiful! We then walked back to the pub for a 3 course dinner which was incredible. I'd... More

My boyfriend and I visited for lunch. We had a warm welcoming and enjoyed sitting in the beer garden in the sun. I had mackerel pate which was lovely, however i could of done with more toast to finish it off. My boyfriend had the baked Camembert which again was lovely. The chips tasted homemade and had a nice sprinkle... More

Went today and met with a warm welcome. Sat in the glorious sunshine outside. Alot of dog owners which was nice. Enjoyed an amazing meal . I had lamb cutlets, very succelent and beautifully presented. My partner had steak which was cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend and hope to go back soon.

This pub is a favourite of mine, the staff are very friendly ,the atmosphere is traditional country pub, warm and welcoming.I had lamb cutlets which were out of this world ,superbly cooked and mouthwatering tender .The wine list is small but comprehensive and reasonably priced

What a brilliant pub!! The owner of the B&B where we were staying in Alfriston recommended The Plough & Harrow for dinner on the evening we arrived. We hadn't thought about where we would eat that evening so we're delighted that there was a table available. The staff at the pub gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival.... More

We stopped by on Saturday for the first time. It was quite busy with two tables free. We asked the young man at the bar and he apologised and said that all the tables were booked up for the rest of the day. I asked him if perhaps a table would come free and he shook his head.. We decided... More
