Poor standards for a German restaurant.More like a average wayside restaurant. Prices are low. Quality of food and choices are low.

"Bavarian Splurge"

Lovely Atmosphere & great food.. Their Steaks are really good & also a range of great Beers.. Great service too.. Their Sea food platter is quite big two or 3 people can eat it..( me & my daughter had it as we avoid steaks..) Wife & son enjoyed their Bacon Ribs & Lamb chop.. All dishes come with veg's & chips that too, could be made to order.. The front area has a large screen with benches but no A\C inside you find normal seating with two Large rooms which could be booked.. With Spirit's wine & Beer..

Amazing Food😍💯

I had never been to this restaurant before and this was my first time there and i absolutely loved it. So now frequent here a lot. The menu prices may seem high but the food is so worth it, the portions are so fullfilling that one dish maybe enough for two. And the food is German styled and i have to say this is the most authentic German food i have had👍 A must try dish here according to me is the Cordon Bleu costs around 2100rs and if ur up for dessert choose a chocolate brownie to go with the dish you wont be disappointed😌

Worth it!!

So I went around 12noon. For lunch.. and ONG the bacon and egg fried rice was just so delicious. We also ordered this amazing pork dish.. mouth watering!!! It has a pub atmosphere.. staff is really nice.. you can stay after closing time and enjoy your meals and drinks in there special room. Alcohol is reasonably priced. Smoking is allowed in the bar area. I loved it.. definitely going again!!

Nice restaurant with pub atmosphere

We have visited this place for friends gathering and really amaze with the service and food. It got atmosphere for both family and drinks. There are 3 sections in the restaurant so depend on your group, you can choose to sit. Food was nice and service is very good. We haven't had any liquor, but this is a good place to try out different types of bears. Parking is minimum and you may have to use the road at nights. That's the only downside I see here.

Place of Great Food!

As you enter the premises it might not look as much of a good place, but, that is their secret... when you enter the main section and additional sub-sections (family rooms/areas, smoking/non-smoking areas, places for large gathering) it is as if you have entered to a different world..... Amazing food, especially the Beef Steak under German Cuisine... I simply loved the place and of course the friendliness & helpfulness of the staff should be highly praised... We had a fantastic time in an ambient & warm surroundings enjoying the best Beef Steak I have ever tasted in Sri Lanka.

Authentic German fare in Nawala

A touch of Germany!

We went there for dinner and found the food to be really good. Portions are big and the food is tasty. The wait staff are very helpful and give good recommendations. Couldn't try thr pork knuckles this time but will surely do so on my next visit. The BBQ pork and Roast chicken were the favourites for my family. I also tried their German ale - Paulaner: creamy with good head and light color. Very nice with the pork dish. We sat outside and watched SL beat SA in the final one day match. Good place for family and friends to dine and have a good meal.

A place big on taste and portions!

No nonsense, big portions and great flavours is what you can look forward to at the Sovereign German Restaurant! The hot butter mushroom will give those from Chinese restaurants a good run for taste! I love the very German spinach and egg dish and I always order that here (though I visited the place after several months this time). The nice young lady who served us here (I believe her name was Nadeesha) was extremely polite and helpful, I think she made a positive difference to our family's dining experience here. This restaurant is a place to go in a crowd and ensure that everyone gets fed happily and adequately!
