My husband and I brought my parents here whilst in Suffolk for their 65th wedding anniversary. What helpful staff, delicious food and nice atmosphere. We all really enjoyed ourselves and left satisfied and relaxed. There was excellent social distancing and we couldn't ask for more....My vegan food was absolutely delicious which is sadly a rarity. If I'm ever in the area again, this restaurant is a MUST!More

This is the second time we have been here and we are very impressed. The food is wonderful (try Al's Curried Goat - it's amazing). The service is impeccable and we will definitely be back when we are next in the neighborhood.

We booked last Sunday for lunch for four of us at 2.15. We were shown to our table and asked for drink and lunch order. We ordered three beef and one chicken. About 20 mins later were told the beef had run out but were...very surprised to see tables who had arrived after us served with beef. On querying this found out that the waitress who had served us had failed to put in the order and by the time she did so they had run out. The management were very apologetic and we ordered something else. The owner had suddenly disappeared. To their credit they did give us a 50% discount on our food menu but it was the disappointment about the meal as it was the last day of our holiday.More

The Parrot was recommended as were staying we in the area for a couple of nights. It was an excellent recommendation! Apart from a thoroughly enjoyable meal (shoulder of lamb in particular) we were very impressed with the prompt and very friendly service. A great...boost in these difficult times.More

Would highly recommend this super little pub for a truly delicious Sunday lunch. We booked for 2pm but the party behind us were sadly disappointed as the beef lunch had run out so book early rather than later. The staff were friendly and attentive and...dealt with the very moany party who missed out on the beef professionally and kindly (they really did moan and were quiet unpleasant to the poor staff who were trying their very best to make a busy covid safe environment for us all) Death by chocolate highly recommended!More

We visited the Parrot on Monday evening and were efficiently greeted and seated Covid-19 secure. Made to feel welcome and had beetroot and Haloumi starter and then shoulder of lamb - tender and well seasoned - fellowdiner had the baked cod tail with winter vegetables...which was perfect! We were too full to have dessert as the portions are very generous.More

I was very disappointed with the food here. Soup was nice. Scallops were nice. Cod tail was tasteless and undercooked. Desert (poached pears) was sickly sweet and unimpressive. I expected so much more. As gastropubs go, this was a disappointment

We had pre-booked the Parrot for an evening meal, as we were away in Suffolk for just a couple of days. They have created an inviting, cosy atmosphere; yet you feel safe in these current uncertain times. We were directed immediately to a lovely table...in a little nook, by the window. We shared some chicken wings to start, which were very tasty (although personally, we prefer ours a little more charred looking). We both had the ribeye, which was cooked superbly; a lovely piece of meat presented wonderfully. Accompanied by a very delicious Shiraz, from a well-chosen wine list. We finished our meal with a shared cheese platter and some great Suffolk iced cider. We really were made to feel extremely welcome and the food was top notch. An excellent place to dine!More

We had booked a table for two here at the end of a short holiday in Suffolk before our return home to Bedfordshire. The food, service and ambience here were all excellent. We felt perfectly safe and all Covid regulations were adhered to. The menu...is far above your usual "pub fayre" and offered many tempting meals. My husband chose the scallops followed by the lamb shoulder followed by brioche marmalade bread and butter pudding and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. As a vegetarian, I chose the harissa hummus with warm pitta bread, which I didn't want to end as it was so wonderfully tasty. This was followed by the leek and celeriac tartefine with balsamic dressing and new potatoes. Oh boy was it good. I can honestly say it was the best vegetarian meal I have eaten in a long time. During these current difficult times, please support this local hostelry and keep it going. Their hard work should be appreciated by locals and visitors alike. Great place.More
