Found this place by pure chance Very nice freshly made sandwich lunch, ham tasted home cooked and proper granary bread with salad - chips that I didn't really were far too tempting as they were also freshly made and nicely chunky. Bar team very helpful and efficient. Clearly popular with regulars and other locals - their cooked lunches looked and... More

I was staying in the premier inn just at the bottom of the hill, looked at the menu for adjoining pub and also had a look in the restaurant ... didn't want to eat here, food looked poor and no atmosphere so went on trip advisor and found The North Pole. Lovely atmosphere very welcoming, it's quite hard being alone... More

The North Pole has been a pub for many years but the restaurant is a modern addition. The restaurant is attractive and comfortable, there is an extensive menu plus a specials board. Portions are large and no doubt are considered great value by the restaurant's target market. We prefer smaller portions and find "large" a bit of a challenge. The... More

I spent a quiet evening with family friends this week. It was my first visit and quite a drive from where I live. My first impression was what a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor was beautiful. There was a log burner alight with two great wing back leather chairs to curl up on in front of it. Fairy lights... More

We came here last Sunday for the Carvery and we were not disappointed !! The choice of Meat was excellent and all the Vegetables were so fresh and hot. The best bit though was the Gravy !! As I am from up North I always dread having gravy or asking for gravy when visiting the south !! So I was... More

Visited on a December Saturday, one week before Christmas, for a pre-booked family meal (about ten of us). Car park was adequate though only about half is properly surfaced. The property is walkable from buses through Wateringbury centre, and also from the railway station down the hill somewhat further. On arrival we were invited to take a seat and to... More

First time I had been to this pub and they had done a great job refurbishing it. We had a lovely lunch and the specials were particularly good. The atmosphere was great with lots of families eating here. Would like to return in the summer as the garden looks perfect for another family lunch in the sunshine.

....the service was far from great. Had Sunday lunch here, it was a carvery and the food was very good. However, staff attitude was poor at times and service at the bar was very slow. Combine those two aspects and the place comes out as average overall, it's a shame as improving the service could be done quite easily and... More
