Is the cheapest food on the island, very delicious and good size, love the taste even if you have to wait over 15 minutes strongly recommended!

Ordered a tuna and queso empanada - crust puffed up nice and crunchy, but filling was very liquidy, with runny cheese, too many grilled onions, and tuna that tasted a bit fishy. Pommes was good and hot. Busy work shooing away the flies. Maybe just plain cheese would have been better?

I've had great empanadas in other places, and because this was well reviewed I was expecting the same here. We tried the tuna and cheese, the cheese and the vegetable empanadas. They're large, but very greasy and quite plain in flavour. We didn't bother finishing them - there are too many other places on Easter Island selling better food than... More

Our wonderful guide, Tiare Edmunds, took us to this little spot on Atamu Tekena, the main street of Hanga Roa, for what she called the "best empanadas" on Rapa Nui. She was right!! They were wonderful, and gigantic. We had the ones made with fresh caught tuna. My wife and I and our 11 year old grandson are in total... More

Cheap, large and delicious. The seafood empanada I had was just amazing and I craved this afterwards. I mean, it's not the prettiest place but who cares.

You can’t absolutely leave Easter Island before having tried empanadas at least once and Tia Berta is an institution for them! There is both take away and on site service, which consist of few rough tables under a small roof. They serve also some drinks, nothing more, it’s really basic. But the empanadas... OMG! They are first of all huge... More

We ate here several times and each time the empanadas were fresh and tasty. Make sure to ask for the salsa that goes along with them. The mushroom and cheese empanada also had green onions and basil, which was so delicious! Service was very friendly and prompt. I would definitely go back.

Came here after a recommendation from a local. Empanadas were good, made fresh in the kitchen. We had the tuna and cheese (Atun, Queso). Like others have stated there is only one server, but come on...you're on island time now! If you've come to Easter Island expecting NYC speed service, you're not going to enjoy yourself. Know some Spanish, as... More
