What a lovely place just a few miles from my home town. My husband and 16 month old son and i went for lunch to marrbury today. We both had a day off from work together for a change, so thought we would try somewhere new. We certainly were not disappointed! We were welcomed by 3 smiling faces, and took... More

This Smokehouse/Deli/Bistro is a must stop place if visiting Dumfries & Galloway. By Carsluith Castle it offers high class service from the moment you enter the door. Everything cooked from fresh as you order & their presentation is top notch. Martar the manageress is the perfect host, she & her staff were extremely friendly & helpful to us. On warm... More

We've visited the Smokehouse on a couple of occasions and its just a fantastic hidden gem of a place. The actual Smokehouse goods are terrific ( and there is an online delivery service available at Christmas). Lunches here are so relaxing, and the staff are true dog lovers, they made such a fuss of our wee dogs ( doggies treats... More

This was our first visit and the staff new and settling in. However they were professional and attentive. There was a friendly ambience on arrival which remained throughout our lunch where service was speedy, friendly and efficient . The lunch was excellent value serving their own specialist smoked products which prompted us to confidently purchase a selection of the Marrbury... More

I live near the smokehouse and havent been for years. It must have changed hands since then as i remember a very different reception. The two waitresses were lovely and accommodated my carry-out Chowder order. It was delicious. The bread was lovely too. Wish i had time (and room) to sit in and enjoy some homemade cake. The owners who were... More

We stopped for lunch on our way to Wigtown, based on the good Trip Advisor rating and yes, it was worth it. Very friendly staff, delicious smoked fish, cheese etc and great value lunch. So good we went back over for another lunch a few days later. And it has a castle on site.

While driving along the A75 we saw the ruins of Carsluith Castle and then spotted the "Smokehouse". What a pleasant surprise. Amazing staff and very good dishes using their smoked products. Worth a return visit when on the next trip to Scotland

We called in for lunch after coming off ferry at Cairnryan. There was four of us and we all had the trio of salmon to start which was absolutely beautiful. My husband and son had the chowder which they both said was lovely and the portion was just right. My other son and I had the fish and chips which... More

Called in here today as we're staying in the area and wished we had found it earlier in our holiday. What a great menu and the food is amazing! The two waitresses that served us were so polite and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back on future holidays and will be telling our friends about... More

After a loverly day in the Galloway forest we stopped here for lunch. The choice of food on the menu was good and I settled for Baggis which is smoked Haggis and Black pudding. Really nice very smokey 😂. The staff were very friendly and were very kind to our dog brining her treats.
