Came here for a family meal when staying in Alnmouth. Was expensive for what it was - nothing especially wrong but we left feeling a bit ripped off (for instance the veg that came with a £15 meal was just peas and carrots).

Had Sunday lunch. Nothing wrong with the dinner, plenty to munch on. But it was very basic. Aunt Bessie Yorkshire puds and paxo stuffing. Vegetables and meat all cooked well, but it was plain, reminded me of my Grans dinners back in the eighties. For the money and in todays competitive market they need to up their game a bit.... More

After a long walk on Warkworth beach on a most beautiful spring like day, we were starving, we needed somewhere that was dog friendly. We took a walk along the Main Street and found The Sun, what a find, very friendly welcome. A very cosy pub. We ordered baked Camembert with hot French bread to share...delicious, followed by roast beef... More

Had a really nice meal, the drinks were a little over priced but in line with other pubs in the village. really friendly and helpful staff. The Decore is very pleasant and I love the use of drift wood for decorations. In general Alnmouth is a very friendly place and very beautiful.

Frozen chips, frozen scampi, frozen peas (which were horible) frozen starter (king prawns) and a bottle of sainsbury's own wine at £20 (£9 in sainsbury's ) Class! Kids meals, were guess what.., frozen, as we're the burgers and we ordered and a steak (£18!) which was completely over cooked and tiny. C'mon, (for the people that own this pub, there... More

Called in to the Sun Inn today for lunch after a walk on the beach. A "must visit" proper local inn, good atmosphere, pleasant welcome and good food and cider. Alnmouth village is certainly worth a visit.

We came in out of the cold with our dog for a lunch time stop. Very dog friendly place. My partner and I both had a freshly made vegetable soup with a baguette. Unfortunately neither of us enjoyed the soup as the pepper overpowered the taste and we don't like pepper, it would have been better to let the customer... More

Spent a lovely long weekend in Alnmouth, called in here a couple of times for a drink, very pleasant staff and lovely surroundings. Had a late Sunday lunch, it was delicious, very well cooked, melt in your mouth meat, lots of veg, good Yorkshire and stuffing, very impressed.

Small friendly pub with a small but decent menu. Mussels highly recommended and curry Thursday ok as well. Very dog friendly even accepting monsters like ours!
