Our first visit to the Wheatsheaf and certainly won't be our last - just wish we had tried it sooner! Booked a table (luckily) as they were fully booked when we arrived - booking advised (we went on a Saturday evening). Service was very quick and staff are very welcoming and helpful. We had a range of mains - hogfather... More

Visited the area and wanted a local taste of both food and beer.my wife had a very tasty chicken and Sweet chili sauce whilst I tried the local sausage mash and peas, both meals where tasty and good value for money. I sampled the Bateman's Best Bitter ,again well served and very nice flavour definitely recommend this venue

I've used the wheatsheaf on many occasions and have never been let down , generally used as a family meeting and eating place , sometimes with grandchildren . The service is always good , the food good and the atmosphere relaxed . Never a duff moment . The carpark seems small but is extended into the nieghbours business , no... More

5 stars for food and friendly staff. Black and Blue burger is the best I have ever had and partner wants to go back to order one for himself. Decor is a little dated but food makes up for it. Will be going back soon.

Would certainly go back, worth a visit. Went for our wedding anniversary, not the cheapest but worth the little bit extra.

We booked Sunday lunch at The Wheatsheaf for a family of 10 as we were holidaying for the weekend at Elms Farm Cottages, which was a short walk away. They were extremely helpful when booking, advising us to pre-order to ensure they could guarantee our choice of meat on the day. We were booked into the bar area so that... More

Booked table for 6 outside. Great location next to river. Fantastic choice of starters and beautiful Sunday roast with lashings of veg. No room for dessert but hubby enjoyed chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. Well worth return visit

Excellent reviews on here so decided to give pub a go. Was not disappointed. Mushroom soup for both of us as starter..... Absolutely gorgeous, full of flavour and most definitely homemade! Hubby had rump steak and i had deluxe chicken breast burger as mains, homemade perfect chips and onion rings too. I was totally beat! Lovely food and friendly welcoming... More

Serving fantastic food and drinks along with providing top live music entertainment. You are always sure of a warm welcome at The Wheatsheaf PLEASE NOTE!! Where it states we are open all day we do in fact close between 2pm and 5pm but there is not an option to put this in the opening times section
