We came out here because the pub is listed in the Good Beer Guide and were not disappointed. The Wye Valley ales were very good. Were stayed for a meal- not a lot of choice, but the main course was fine and the home made ice cream was excellent. The place was fairly quiet, but the customers and staff were... More

Been here a few times now. Sunday lunch more or less OK but food mainly abysmal since new ownership in 2015. Nice people, but they just can't cook. Pub on the market again, I notice.

Called in midweek at around 7.15pm and the place was empty. We wondered whether or not to eat but decided to give it a try in the hope a few more folks would turn up to to offer some life to the place. This regretablly didn't happen. We ordered their pie of the day which was ok but nothing very... More

A bit out of the way...but a real gem of a find... An excellent meal..the choice wasn't huge. But hey, we wanted a Sunday lunch and that's what we got....freshly cooked veg, roast pots cooked in goose fat...fresh home made Yorkshire puds..even with the Roast Pork...and amazing crackling too.. A choice of 1 , 2 or 3 courses..and very reasonable... More

We love the atmosphere in this place, it's a great place to chill, chat, if you wish meet new friends or just enjoy being among good-natured people having a good time. You can sit out in a sunspot or in winter enjoy a good fire and, if the fancy takes you, a game of backgammon or some such. Sometimes we... More

Very disappointed. It looked unappealing and not what you expect from a good looking Sunday roast. The beef had a grey looking appearance to it, and the very small roast potatoes were dried out. Shame. .nice landlord and lovely quiet location. Maybe we hit them on a bad day.

A group of 12 of us had a Sunday lunch to celebrate a special anniversary. We were given a room to ourselves upstairs and had a fantastic lunch. The food was great. The service was excellent, very personal and friendly and this all helped to make the whole occasion extremely pleasant and enjoyable. And to cap it off this pub... More
