6 of us for a 70th birthday dinner. We sat in the alcove on a round table as pre-booked and were all very comfortable. Food, wine and service all very good indeed. Would recommend

Enjoyed the menu. Came back for a second dinner during our stay. Steaks are a bit tough but otherwise the food is good. Not so happy that they exchanged the ordered burata for feta cheese without letting me Know

My wife and I was driving around The Cotswolds on Sunday 14th and was redirected by The Garniche At Puesdown (closed for food at 2.45...according to the web food all day, plus billboard outside saying Open all Day) to The Wheatsheaf Inn and was glad that the lady did as we had a most enjoyable meal eating outside in their... My mum and I went for an early dinner recently and we were really looking forward to it. The food was ok-good but not amazing. The problem was the service. The server brought out wine that she thought may have gone bad. Rather than open a new bottle, she brought out the glass and ask me to 'taste it'. A... More

Visited for the first time last night, started badly and just got worse! Arrived at 19:40 for 20:00 reservation, told table not ready so had a drink at the bar whilst choosing from the menu that was provided. Made our choices and after to another drink we're shown to a small table at approx 20:15 next to two buckets of... More

The food at the Wheatsheaf is good but not the faint hearted as the portion sizes are really large. It's not a very balanced menu really and the puddings, whilst genuinely delicious, are so huge I can't believe that anyone can finish them! Good Cotswolds pub, very busy, quite noisy background music which made one of our party uncomfortable as... More

We tried to book for the Sunday BBQ starting on the 14th May 17, for my mothers birthday. I was unable to contact the restaurant by phone, it rang continuously and there was no message taking facility. I then emailed to make a booking for 7 people. A week after my email and no response I called the central reservations... More

The food was delicious. Its was distinctly moreish. Good sized portions, not so much you feel guilty by not eating it all, but plenty to keep you satisfied. Laid back and not stuffy atmosphere. I would go back again and again. we stayed the night there, but there was a great deal of locals as well, who are obviously much... More

Lovely meal here during our stay. The Chicken pie was awesome and the service was excellent. Wine list for all tastes and pockets. Rather bizarre figure with a coke can picture on end wall was at odds with other more appealing historical pictures. Someone has wired taste in art but the food was fantastic.

Went for late Sunday lunch - food was fine/good but so wanted it to be more special. Service was warm and friendly - but a bit slack - forgetting things, wine not coming until end of starters. Having been to some other Cotswold pubs/restaurants (e.g. The Plough at Kingham, Wild Rabbit and Dormy House) I wanted it to be better... More
