Great food and reasonably priced what more can you want. Environment was somewhat on the quirky side but made a change from eating in chain pubs & restaurants. Don't want to praise the place too much as I don't want it full up next time we visit and can't get in.

The last Saturday of the month is steak night, choose your steak and watch as it is cooked on the outdoor bbq. We chose the biggest steaks and shared...... Such a fun, social meal. Food was perfect, service faultless.... highly recommended

Was working in harwich and got told to stay at the alma inn by my client and I can't tell you what a great place it was to stay. All staff were fantastic and my room was lovely and comfortable with a great bed and brilliant shower. The food was absolutely delicious and the breakfast was really good with good... More

Lovely place, warm atmosphere, service quite good, lovely food, prices not bad, tho they do charge different prices for every steak, charge for weight, so if there is a few of you you have to remember what size steak you have ordered.

The fist and chips here were excellent - this is a traditional INN with a very authentic atmospher of a local pub that does very good food. Not the most obvious location as you have to park on the front and walk down a side road to find this little gem.

My wife and I decided to visit 2 restaurants in Harwich on consecutive days, the Samuel Pepys on Monday and The Alma today (both lunchtime visits). These comments are based on our visit to The Alma. We chose the restaurants based on reviews on trip advisor and must admit we can not reconcile the scores given to this place with... More

The Alma Inn is very close to the Quay and lots of visiting sailors find it a welcome haven for food, drink and atmosphere. The menu has fresh fish and seafood, steaks etc. The menu is inventive; there is a good lunch menu for £5.95 which you can pad out with a portion of real home cooked chips. There is... More

We came by river from Levington with some friends and our two dogs. Although we had been here before, we hadn't eaten. The five of us sat down and had different options. The steaks are good albeit a little pricey. The pasta was tasty and the pie was good. Very dog friendly.

We were staying in a friends apartment for the weekend and they recommended this place for supper. We had drinks in the bar before eating , the bar was extremely lively and had a wide range of drinks to choose from, after a while we were taken to our table, had a selection of starters and two of our group...
