The Sportsmans Arms always delivers good quality food and service. The carvery is excellent value, plenty of choice and the cod and chips were delicious. They allow our dogs in the bar area which is an added bonus for us. We have never had a bad experience in this establishment and are quick to recommend it to everyone we know... More

Having little local knowledge of Dartmouth we popped in hungry after walking all day. As it was late we gave this place a go. The outside looked ok. Inside it didn't!The carpet looked like it had seen better days and decor was extremely dated. There was a pungent stale smell and the welcome was unconvincing. The food we ordered was... More

I have just literally returned from a Sunday Carvery and despite the food being nice the whole experience was totally spoilt and quite honestly disgusting and i have been left feeling very angry and upset by the expressionless response from the staff. I am not a complainer and have only ever been on this site once before to give a... More

Booked a table and arrived on tine, however had to wait for 30 minutes . We kept asking when we would be seated and told to wait and they would find us. After a while had to go and ask again. This spoilt the overall experience. The food was OK, vegetables on the hard side. It's nice, but be prepared... More

After a wonderful walk around the coast at East Prawle and late afternoon out of season shopping in Kingsbridge we rumbled towards Dartmouth in search of a good place to have an early dinner. The beauty of going for a carvery is that you get a couple of different roast meats and masses of veg and wonderful boiled and roasted... More

We had dinner here a couple of days before Xmas, my wife had the carvery and I had the homemade steak pie, food absolutely gorgeous and plentiful, also served a nice pint of tribute as well, will go back when in the area.

Christmas lunch today was very nice. Turkey moist and the beef was lovely. Deserts were also very good. I/we would recommend. Thank you for a lovely afternoon

We had driven past this pub several times on our days out around Dartmouth during our half term family break. We kept saying- let's pop in there one night. So glad we did! Very family friendly, lovely choice of food on the menu, lovely carvery, nice atmosphere in the pub, good and prompt service too.
