proper local pub, food simple and cheap, full of flavor, what would expect from an old style English pub, big portions too, highly recommend.

We visited at short notice over Christmas and had a lovely bar meal. Portions were huge and service good despite if being very busy. We have a wheelchair and it was no problem to get in and out even though it is a very old pub. Can highly recommend it.

Lovely staff who were incredibly helpful with our wheelchair. Good access and excellent disabled loo. The atmosphere was very pleasant, no loud 'muzak', and lots of people enjoying meals. We visited the Village Inn Ashwater on Saturday night, although it was very busy with people eating, they quickly accommodated us in a cosy corner of the pub. The food arrived quickly my partner had the curry, my father had a jacket potato and I had the fish and chips. The. Portions were enormous and the food was very tasty.... More
