Very good food quality and a nice variety of menu, setting is superb as well as inside as in the garden with a well maintained garden and beautiful views.Normal menu is far more superior then a sunday roast.Close to where we live its a regular.

This 14th century pub is very cosy and snug. The lovely fire as you walk in makes the place warm and inviting. A very mixed menu with plenty to chose from. I can definitely recommend the Roast Beef with all the expected trimmings. The Ice Cream with Toffee Vodka is also a winner. It's a place certainly worth a visit... More

We came here with our family who knew this as a cosy place to drink. As vegans living in Brighton, spoilt for choice we knew we would be limited in choice, maybe one choice, maybe just chips. On arrival we felt very cosy, this pub is very warm and good for a few drinks. A family member ordered us a... More

Had the pleasure of dining with family on the 16th, met outside by the owner a real character, very helpful & a lot of fun so hard to forget. The food was of a very high standard, well cooked and we all enjoyed the meal and evening as a whole, was a shame to leave but look forward to going... More

Visited primarily due to it being a pub frequented by my ancestors in early 1800's and found it to be authentically historic even in the 21st century. A real trip back to the past! Staff really helpful and efficient and were able to supply interesting historic detail. Food was lovely and would love to go back.

This was the first visit for us and our two friends and on arrival everyone was welcoming. It was a lovely olde pub with a rouring fire and lots of choice of food on chalk boards hanging around the bar. We were informed we were upstairs in the restaurant but we had to decide on the food downstairs as there... More

On a cold winter's night, this is a lovely, lovely pub. Warm, rich interior, both in furnishings and from the staff. A menu that is to die for, with home cooked options abounding across the 5 blackboards. Food is top notch and reasonably priced. Harvey's (the best beer in the world) is fresh and on tap. Plenty of parking, yet... More

Lunch today was pretty poor. Starters, goats cheese mushroom which was quite tasty. Chicken liver pate, OK a bit bland no seasoning, no butter served with bread. Very average. Main courses: Moules and chips. Moules ok, chips cooked in stale oil / fat. Mushroom stroganoff. Appalling! Have you ever had a stroganoff packed with tomato sauce and chilli? Totally inedible... Had dinner with our friends and Kiwi (our labradoodle -very dog friendly) in our new local. Mike and his partner were most welcoming, and treated us really well. The food was delicious and there was a fab veggie option and the choice of wine well ......it's gonna take a year to try them all. Thankyou all see you again soon.
