I’ve been in Tarifa for a week now; and only had very pleasant experiences… until today. Today we made the poor choice of going for lunch at El Chiringuito… from the start, the staff was rude… Most of the things we wanted to order; they...didn’t have… There were flies everywhere (absolutely disgusting) The waitress was rude The salad I had were the cheapest leaves you can buy; served with some chopped tomatoes and canned mango… dry, no dressing DO NOT GO THERE; there’s nothing good about it! You will find better food anywhere… even if you make a sandwich with yesterday’s bread!!!!More

Arrived for lunch, having made the reservation. The manager was so rude and with such a bad attitude that we decided not to dine there. No one wants to eat where the staff might spit in your food. That’s the impression they gave. Overall -...overrated, bad service and given the wind, a meal outside would imply chewing on sand and dust from the ocean.More

El Cheringuito beachfront restaurant for an afternoon soda. Coke Light and a Fanta orange 5 Euros. Not cheap, but nice view of kite boarders. Waitress was a 1-2 with no personality, and certainly didn't make us feel welcome. I actually had to walk to her...to even get her to notice us and take our order. Rate a 3 overall only because of location and view.More

Avoid at all cost. Worst service I have ever experienced. It took one hour for us to get only the drinks. One of the waiters actually looked at us in a bad way when we asked about the drinks after 50 minutes waiting. Not to...mention how hot was it, no air-cond of course. In the middle of this coronavirus pandemic they have no soap at the bathroom. The place looks nice from outside but I strongly recommend not to go in. We can understand that it was a busy day but staff bad manners are never justified.More

Saturdaylunch with a glass of house white. The fish was superbly cooked and presented. Recommend fried calamari and the red tuna in 4 sauces.

Stopped for coffee, very simple, however they were absolutely desorganized, brought me a cold coffee, I went inside with it to be re heated or exchanged, the waiter realized the cold coffee was orders by another table, and puts the cup that I had drank...of on a tray and serves it! I called him and he called it his mistake, but nothing worked. Paid top price for two coffees on the beach.More

Stopped in on a drive through to Gibraltar airport. Fabulous location, lovely facility, great food but miserable staff, seriously miserable, I know I only spoke English and tried Spanish but you didn’t even try back, I got a grunt and a huffy attitude. Seemed more...friendly to locals though, maybe I was just the wrong nationality or maybe it was brexit! Service with a smile def not the mantra here. Was a beautiful place though.More

Prime location chiringuito with a little upmarket attitude, you will want to dress up to dine here and will feel suitably pampered. Of course it is a fish restaurant, and all our dishes were very well executed, but I'd just really like to see more...veg! A personal thing, maybe, but this is a failing of many establishments - no vegetables, or vegetables that don't look like they belong in a little foil square served on a tray table (aeroplane food). Staff were attentive, informative and smiled. The view across to the port, and on a clear day Africa, is perfect to watch the comings and goings of boats, surfers and the sunset.More

We went to this restaurant just because we was walking by. Had a lovely setting and to watch the Kitesurfing. Half the food on the menu was unavailable and to have rice with dinner was a no, they couldn’t cook this. The waiter with the...tattoos was very very rude, abrupt and unwelcoming. The food was terrible to. The cow was walking to my table as they served the steak. Medium well done I asked for. Avoid this place Hell’s Kitchen at its worstMore
