Our third night in Antequera and we decided we had had enough tapas and decided to eat her. Not many people dining when we arrived but it was only 7pm. Waitress was polite and helpful. Menu came in Spanish and in English thankfully. I had the home made partridge pate with toast and raspberry marmalade, followed by the chicken with... More

If you are in Antequerra then this restaurant is a must. Situated in the bull ring complex the Plaza De Toros has a lovely ambience. There was a good varied menu and we were well looked after by Judith, our waitress. Judith is Spanish but speaks good English and was very helpful. Most importantly of course was the food and... The restaurant is located right under the seatings in the bull ring. The room was pleasantly warm this cold February Monday evening. Service was prompt, attentive and offered digital translation of the menu and wine card. We started to share a plate with artichokes, the my wife had the seafood pot (Zarzuela) and I had the grilled fish with shrimps.... More

We booked a table for 7.30 and were not surprised to be the only ones in the Restaurant at that time. However we did not expect to spend our entire evening as the only diners! As for the food, I chose the 18 euro set meal which could have been good if the main course had been warmer. My husband... More

We were staying at a Hotel in Antequera and decided to go into town one evening to eat for a change. Having walked round the town looking for a decent restaurant and not find anything we suddenly came across the Bull Ring. The food was amazing and the staff could not have been more helpful Henry and Judy were fantastic.... More

We knew the food in the area was really good and thought we'd venture out and see. We went to many restaurants and read their menus, nothing was that enticing. The minute we read the menu at this place we were drawn in, typical spanish cuisine with a modern twist, really did not expect it! Prices are steeper than anything... More

We went there for a good steak (difficult to find in Spain :-)) and were not disappointed. The accompanying wine, suggested by the staff, was delicious (Acontia Ribera Duero). Original setting in the bullring too.

Description
Few places given the opportunity to eat in the bullring, on the sand that have trod large as Curro Romero or Jose Tomas and in which the bull has left its mark heavy. Doing so at dusk while tasting the traditional dishes of Antequera, with a soundtrack composed by the voices of Morente and Camarn and the Vicente Amigo guitars may prove to be a gastronomic experience?.Which could well have become a mere tourist attraction has been transformed into a point of reference in the city and all thanks to the variety and quality of their products. Restorer from 16 years, partner in the bullfighter Francisco Rivera, Francisco Martinez took the reins of restaurant next to a team that worthy are to assess their efforts and sacrifices, to catapult to which today is, without doubt, one of the best, and famous restaurants within and outside the national territory. If for some tastes the traditional cuisine can be boring, the Menu of the restaurant Plaza de Toros la Espuela gives you a change in his presentation in a menu. Under titles such as Lances del Mediterraneo del Faraon de Camas, Tercios de Rivera en las dehesas Andaluzas, Caprichos del Maestro Curro or Cucharas del Maestro Paula -all in clear reference to figures of bullfighting, presented the dishes encountered in the stove of professionals that form the kitchen equipment. If diner at the coso has its clear charm, do not within him expectation. The inner dining crimson shielding the tables of the diners among small archs decorated with pictures and tables of thematic bullfighting and flamenco. Among them, stresses a picture of Enrique Morente singing in the restaurant in the holding of baptism of his grandson, Curro, son of Estrella Morente and Javier Conde. Harvey Friend dinner in the coso antequeran while ran The Bridge of San Luis Rey (Mary McGuckian, 2004) in the city and that Madonna made a stop in the plaza de toros for running a spot whose picture of the shooting is found in the area of the bar. Also corners, dedicated to the great figures of bullfighting that have passed by the house, as Curro Romero, Rafael de Paula, Antonio Chenel Antonete, Enrique Ponce, Francisco Rivera, The Cordobes, the Maestro Manzanares, among other?.In a city whose gastronomic history has not been drawn throughout the match possible, the extensive and complete charter of the restaurant Plaza de Toros la Espuela summarizes the culinary tradition of Antequera and part of the Andalusia and Spain. For those who do not need more that good raw material, but who like to enjoy places with solera, for them, the Plaza de Toros de Antequera left their doors open?.
