Best seafood in Portugal - hidden gem indeed

The truth is I don’t really want to share ‘‘tis because they might get to busy and will lost it’s personal touch. Our third day of our Lisbon tour and finally thanks to Joao Ferrao, our tour guide for sharing this hidden gem. Met the owner Raymond who took time showing us the fresh fish Explain the dishes etc. we got the grilled squid , grilled duoro fish and swordfish with side of potatoes and veggies and all are fantastic. The house red wine , coffee and homemade sweet almond all amazing. Locals from afar come and dine in this place. We will see you again and will bring our whole gang to savor your amazing dishes.

Fantastic Meal and Kind Host

We loved the fresh grilled fish and carefully prepared side dishes. Everything was so satisfying. The owner was also fantastic, sharing with us the history of Nazare and its importance as a port. Really loved speaking with him. Also loved that the restaurant was on a quiet side street, while still near everything.

We had a lovely evening and meal at this really quaint little restaurant. We had freshly baked rolls with cheese to start with followed by the lovely tasty clams with coriander really delicious. We then had a Mero to share which was tasty and which came with a salad and new potatoes. The wine was poured into an iced jar which was lovely and added a nice touch. The owner was very friendly and professional and the restaurant itself was so quaint and charming the photos on the wall are of the owner himself and his family. The dessert creme brule was a little bit scorched on the top but the brule inside was creamy and tasty. We had two glasses of aged Porto which was pleasant but quite expensive we didn't think it was worth the price in all honesty. We were given two complementary little drinks which was nice. Overall it was a lovely experience and we wish them well. Jane and Juan

Amazing Food, great atmosphere

We’ve spent a wonderful evening in the restaurant “Rosa dos Ventos”. The food was delicious (only the freshest fish directly from Nazaré), the drinks were great and the Service was on point. We can recommend this experience to everyone!

Hidden Gem

This place was recommended by a local and we just loved it. Very small restaurant best to eat fresh grilled fish. A selection of fresh fish was presented on a tray by a charming waitress at our table. Once we had selected our fish, they weighed it and informed us of the price. It was served at our table with boiled potatoes & a green salade and tasted amazing. We had a wonderful time at this very authentic place and truly enjoyed how welcoming everyone was.

Dinner at Rosa dos Ventos

Dinner at Rosa dos Ventos restaurant was really a highlight in our trip to Nazaré. By far, the best sea bass we have eaten in Portugal. Simply delicious! For dessert, Vitor son suggested us the chocolate mousse that was absolutely exquisite. At last but not least, Vitor father served us a delicious pomegranate liqueur in a special little cup. Thank you Vitor father and Vitor son for your hospitality. We will definitely come back to your superb restaurant in our next visit to Nazaré 😋🐟🥗🥔🍫🥂🤩🤩

Having a really great time having fresh fish and wine in Nazare!

We had a daytime excursion from Lisbon to Fatima, and a lunch time in Nazare, near the beach. We followed our driver's advice to have lunch at Rosa dos Ventos.It was our best time of the whole day! A family restaurant, so tiny but cosy.Members of the family are there to serve you fresh fish they got from the sea the same morning! Nice wine and excellent Portuguese poutigue! They offer us a special home made and they gave us also the tiny little cups of it as a souvenir Delicious food, quick service, smiling people who really love what they do! Don't miss it!

An unique dining experience

Was lucky enough to snag a outdoor table at this unique eatery. The owner presented the daily catch and I chose Sargo because it was an appropriate size for one person. The dreamily prepared fish came with boiled potatoes and a very nice mixed salad. My vegetarian honey had the same salad and hearty vegetable cup of soup. The freshly baked rolls were a nice touch with a dish of olives. The highlight for honey was the chocolate mousse for desert which she considered the best ever! Don’t forget your euros because they don’t take credit cards. Also, it’s a little place and I believe they take reservations.

Little Gem!

We had lunch at this little gem which is tucked away off Nazare’s main street and has 8 tables in the whole restaurant. The food was delicious, simple and classic Portuguese foot at its best and the service was attentive. Manuela and Vitor have created a welcoming and delicious experience that I would encourage you to experience. Simply a delight!

Wanted have a bit of pleasure and I was also hungry

I had a dinner in this restaurant during two evenings. First night I bought a whole big fish (700 grams) for myself since there is no one to share. This exellently prepared fish would have fed 2-3. As a starter I took a serving of big shrimps. Very tasty. And many. Good value for money for a big eater like myself. They had some difficulty with banking, so my card would not do. He simply asked me to came back later to settle the account. So I came back and paid my debt. And it was already 7 pm and local early dinnertime, I decided to eat there again. I had their regular starters, which in Portugal come to the table without asking. Ordered Swordfish which I did not find so interesting. Very large portion, but I did not find it in me to finish the meal. Being a fisherman myself I recognise the difference. Should have taken the recommended clams. All in all, best restaurant experience in many years. Wonderful, professional service. And me - a very happy customer.

Traditional Restaurant in Nazaré

Local Restaurant with very few choices, but everything you can get is as fresh as it comes, you can literally choose your fish before it’s cooked. Sardinhas and Dourada were amazing (served with boiled potatoes and fresh salad), as a starter I had clams ( Ameijoa bulhao pato) and they were very tasty. We also had olives and local cheese. Prices are similar to the other restaurants in Nazaré; staff was very available and welcoming. Totally recommended!!

Perfection !

This small boutique restaurant on a cobblestone street perched above the water will always be a memorable experience. The owners were all present : from being waited on by the son to getting after dinner drinks complimentary from the husband while he gave credit to his wife who was preparing all the meals - Perfection. The fish is so fresh and prepared beautifully. The wine was excellent! The food amazing , The house dessert sublime. Above all the way we felt was special - as if dining in their home. Lovely restaurant

We found this little gem thanks to our driver for the day. The owner caught the fish that morning and brought the fish to our table to pick out. He then grilled it and brought it out with potatoes and salad. Everything was absolutely fresh and delicious! The staff was so friendly and COVID conscious. They even gave us some homemade alcohol and ginja. Such a delightful experience.

Cloudy day pick me up

We visited on a trip from Porto to Lisbon and failed to anticipate the ocean fog. So our day at the beach did not happen but thanks to Rosa dos Ventos the stop was amazing. We did not have a reservation but we’re able to wait and be accommodated for a table of 4. While waiting we were provide stools to sit along the narrow street along with glasses of wine, which made the wait enjoyable. Once seated we were presented with a tray of fresh seafood to make our selection. Served with boiled potatoes and a fresh salad it was an excellently executed meal. Along with two carafes of the house vino blanco we made the best of the clouds. Must stop if enjoy fresh fish and great service.

Amazingly fresh fish

This was quite wonderful. Fish is by weight, and they bring them to the table to select. Don’t bother looking at the menu. We had the grilled snapper. It was great. We also had the flan for dessert. Also lovely. Thicker than the flan I am used to in the states, with an almost burnt caramel glaze. Bring cash, no credit machine. The waiter was very nice and helpful.
